LeBron James Not Concerned With His Scoring in NBA Finals

While the silly debate about whose team the Miami Heat is (LeBron James or Dwyane Wade’s) rages on, LBJ is fighting another battle with the press regarding his relatively low scoring output so far in the championship series. For James, it’s all about the end result: winning. From the AP: “Here’s what constitutes what some might consider a “down” series for James so far: 20.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and six assists per game on just over 50 percent shooting from the field. James, as he’s done most of the season, is shrugging off the criticism. The Heat, which leads 2-1 in the series, is just two victories from winning the NBA championship, and to James that’s the only number that matters now. ‘Anybody that knows me throughout the years, all I care about is the ‘W’ no matter if I’m scoring,’ James said Monday. ‘I’m not just a scoring guy. I’ve got a lot of points in my career. I have had some teammates who have given me great confidence and ability to go out there and score a lot of points. But I’ve done other things. I don’t have to score points to be effective.’”

nbk: yeah it was all over the internet. People have been killing the reporter for it. But besides the fact that dude wrote the column after his feelings were hurt by Lebron’s response, it’s clear the media needs a catchy narrative: Lebron’s scoring down in the Finals? It must be Wade’s team and Lebron must be dropping the ball in the clutch! The sad thing is how many people actually fall for such transparent sensationalism.

Lebron is the best player on the team, but Wade is the most offensively assertive and deserves to be MVP. While his defense on Jason Terry should be recognized, Wade is the player that has had the highest output/pushed them to victory both times.

That’s not what the article is about. it’s about how great LeBron has been and how he’s regaining his “likeable” persona. Idk what ur talkin bout

Me neither. All I know is Lebron is going to go off for the remaining four games of this series…and NBGhey’s mom’s weener is bigger than his.

Watching this Finals, Lebron’s camp has to be upset. Wade is freezing out Lebron, Lebron is running from ball right now, playing in the corner. I don’t like this Lebron, because Wade is clearly the more dominate personality on the team and demands more out of everyone than Lebron. Wade was barking at Lebron last game and won the game. Wade will be NBA Finals MVP is Heat win series and this will be like this. On the Heat you have 2 time Finals MVP and 2 time Champion Wade and 0 time Finals MVP and 1 time Champion Lebron. Its funny because I feel Wade played Lebron, because Wade will CLEARLY benefit more from the partnership, making his LEGACY great and Lebron LEGACY is going down everytime Wade bails the Heat out. BOOK IT!!!

im completely disgusted by what Lebron is doing in the finals, he doesnt even want the ball, ive never seen Lebron play like this. He was mad after the last game telling the reporter to look at the tape to see what he did defensively, well tonight he put on probably the worse performance of his career. He might as well just sat the game out cause he didnt even try. Nowitski was sick and he put on a 10 times better effort then Lebron …. BOOOOOO

I agree with Allister9 the way Lebron is playing in these finals reminds me of last year against the celtics when I hate to say it but he quit on his team. I’m not saying lebron is quiting now but there’s a point in the game when great players get their team involved and then their is a time when a great player takes over. Lebron doesn’t seem to know or even want to assert himself offensively but wat he doesn’t seem to understand is unless he attacks the basket and forces the defense to collapse all his passing isn’t creating for his team its hurting his team. And I love lebron but he is an enigma because he is by far the greatest TALENT anyone has ever seen but far from the greatest player and ppl seem to get that confused.

Dwayne Wade, Derek Jeter, LeBron James, A-Rod, Chris Bosh, Ball boy. Alex is physically superior to Derek but if your life was on the line and you needed one of these guys to get a hit to save your life, 9 out of 10 people will choose “El Capitan”. Some people just understand the moment they’re in and don’t shrink in it. Pressure either bursts pipes or make diamonds, D-Wade is looking like 50 Carats right now.
