Rockets Offered Hasheem Thabeet, Jordan Hill for Andris Biedrins

The Warriors appear to be interested in moving their 7-foot center Andris Biedrins, but though he may be on the block, they aren’t giving him up for cheap. Via the Contra Costa Times: “Was able to confirm reports by the Houston Chronicle that the Rockets are indeed interested in acquiring Warriors center Andris Biedrins. Houston, with Yao Ming and Chuck Hayes as their expected center options next season, are in need of a big man since Yao’s ability to play again is still suspect and Chuck Hayes, while valiant and completely useful, is probably not a starting center on a playoff team. For Warriors fans, who have been hoping for Biedrins’ departure for some time, that means the Warriors just may be able to move Biedrins. That was once thought to be impossible considering the drastic decline in his production and the three years, $27 million he has left on his contract. But apparently, Houston is a taker. So why is Biedrins still a Warrior you ask? While this may seem the perfect answer to the Warriors’ ills, Golden State, according to multiple sources, are not at all enamored with the Rockets’ offer thus far. I’ve been told the Rockets have offered Hasheem Thabeet and Jordan Hill. Haven’t confirmed if they were offered as a package, but the figures add up. Thabeet, a former No. 2 overall pick, is widely regarded as someone who simply not good enough to play in the NBA and probably won’t be. There is still some hope for Jordan Hill, but he’s got a Post-It note on his back that says ‘stiff.’ Bottom line for the Warriors: that’s not enough.”

Yo, Hasheem has fallen off quick. I still believe he can be an impact player worthy of his #2 pick draft status.

Someone needs to give Thabeet a chance. I hope he gets some PT with the Rockets next season, whenever that will be.

    Bargnani for Biedrins?

^ Oh my gosh, yes please.

bargnani for biedrins? the warriors need an interior anchor. a front-line combo of bargnani & lee is alllll bad on defense

^don’t worry, the perimeter defense of Ellis and Curry will prevent anyone from getting close to the rim. j/k. lol
But from what I hear the contracts match up and on the bright side, at least GS will likely end up scoring 130point per night!

i want him in Toronto… the Tanzanian community will go bananas

Thabeet couldn’t stop DeJuan Blair, Samardo Samuels, Derrick Caracter and Luke Harangody from obliterating him in the Big East, who thought this guy would do anything in the league? Also he stayed *3* freaking years in school and still couldn’t run the floor or do anything other than block non-NBA players shots. When I saw him on draft night with some nutty diamond encrusted watch before he’d ever been drafted it was pretty clear that guaranteed money was enough for him and he’d never lift a finger to get better.

I think the warriors and the rockets should make the deal between jordan hill and hasheem thabeet for andris biedrins and then add in terrence williams. If the trade doesn’t go down it won’t make any cents because the rockets got all of there pieces and they can go to the free agentcy and get people once the lockout is over. If the lockout is over they can sign a replacement for terence williams if they trade him. When they add more talented people that’s when Andris biedrins fits in very well with the rockets and so does jordan hill, hasheem thabeet, and terence williams fit in with the warriors. You want to know why it will work it’s because of yao ming, yao ming is hurt he needs time to rest and heal and by adding andris biedrins, he can score and rebound and he can make them better, and as for the warriors jordan hill can come off the bench for david lee unless they change him into a center. Thabeet can be a starter and epke udoh can be the back up for him and as for terence williams he can be the back up for dorell wright unless they put klay thompson as the back up for dorell wright and then terrence williams could be the back up for monta ellis. If that trade goes down after the lockout i’m tellin u now that the warriors and the rocket will be in the playoff mostly every year prabably. Don’t u agree?.
