Sixers, Clippers Discussing Iguodala-Kaman Trade

Amid much speculation of an Andre Iguodala-Monta Ellis trade, a new team has emerged: the Los Angeles Clippers. There is a reported deal in place to send Iguodala out West in exchange for Chris Kaman. From ESPN:

“The Clippers have long maintained that the only scenario that would convince them to part with Kaman — whose career has been plagued by injuries but who had an All-Star season in 2010 — is getting an elite small forward in return. Iguodala’s athleticism and defensive skills would figure to mesh well alongside star power forward Blake Griffin and young center DeAndre Jordan. The Clippers are determined to keep Jordan over Kaman as their center of the future as Jordan heads for restricted free agency. But it appears that the Sixers are weighing various trade possibilities as they gauge the market for Iguodala. Earlier this week, ESPN The Magazine’s Ric Bucher reported that the Sixers and Golden State Warriors have likewise discussed a trade that would swap Monta Ellis for Iguodala. Trade talk generally picks up leaguewide at this time every year, as the NBA draft approaches, but sources say that the Sixers could well delay any trade until after the completion of the team’s potential sale from Comcast-Spectacor to a group headed by New York-based leveraged buyout specialist Joshua Harris, as reported Tuesday by ESPN.com’s Henry Abbott. In both cases — Iguodala for Kaman or Iguodala for Ellis — current salaries for the players involved are close enough that the swap could be made without adding additional players to the deal to satisfy current salary-cap requirements. Iguodala and Kaman are both represented by agent Rob Pelinka.”

Iguodala for Ellis is a better trade for the Sixers

Mo, Eric Gordon, Iggy, Blake and Jordan. Looks like a pretty solid staring 5 to me.

the sixers have got to be mentally disabled…
WTF (why the f**k) would you give that albino caveman for one of the games most athletic guards????!!!

SHOUT OUT TO MY BOY KBV4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it’s safe to say the Sixers no longer want Iggy.

  • Hussman25

Is Dre’s & Kaman’s Agent the same Pelinka from UofM??

  • cuseburg

That clippers starting 5 would be a ridiculous dunking lineup, even moreso than they were this year. Hope it happens(unless im a sixers fan)

  • @Deknowz

Mo Williams would lead the league in assists by default, all he would have to do is throw the ball at the basket.

Gordon, Iggy, Blake and Jordan. Each game is going to be a dunk contest.

that will put the Clippers around 3 to 6 seed next season out west(if there is a season, damnn u stern). Mo better star dishing and stop looking for his shot. It will come eventually

Good deal for both teams. Kaman and Brand have good chemistry together.

Kaman only looks slow.. he’s actually a good center. I believe he has played in more All-Star games than Iggy.

Iguodala, Griffin, Jordan… easily the most athletic front court in the league.

Only way, as a Sixer fan, I want that deal to happen is if EG is involved. The good thing is that I think Kaman is an UFA after the ’11-12 season. So, in the hopes to shed salary, it’s not so bad.

  • Terrece

Dont do it PHILLY!!! Caveman is not the tough, shot blocking center the team needs to go foward and improve from last season… plus he is always hurt

I agree with Fat. Sixers have to get something else in return with Kaman. Either EG, Aminu, or the Clips 2012 No. 1. I love the fact that this deal sheds salary, though.

oh HELL NO, they must be outta their minds, give me ellis any day over kaman, dam.

This would be perfect for the Clippers; maybe if the Sixers pick up Ellis the Clippers can still trade Kaman for Iggy at the Warriors, who need a C as far as I’m aware.

If 76ers were smart, trade Iggy for OJ Mayo. Forget injuried Kaman and shoot first Ellis.

  • http://slamonline.com SpaceJam

This trade is perfect for the clippers. They’d have one of the most athletic starting 5′s in the league. And they have shooters in williams and gordan. Randy Foye as a 6th man. It’s all comin together. Sixers outta they mind tho

people really sleepin on kaman, i think the sixers desperately need him, he is one of the best inside scorers with either hand because he is actually ambidexterous, he has a good shot and will rebound and block enough shots to not be a liability on D. but he gets hurt alot and dre is practically made of iron so this move would also help evan turner who does many of the same things as dre, this can either go really well, or be an injury plauged train wreck for philly

  • HurricaneP

Clips own Minnesota’s ’12 first rounder. Kaman plus whatever talent that pick brings, which should be top five in a stacked draft, would make more sense for the sixers. Clips will get their SF either this year or in next years draft, if they don’t make this trade. Harrison Barnes would look mighty good in that lineup too.

  • jumpman

iguodala should go to clippers! this trade would make clippers a playoff contender for sure!

  • el_larsen

good.but why not sign tayshaun prince, and keep kaman off the bench?

  • Clipperfan

Kaman doesn’t want to split minutes with DJ in a contract year….Would likely demand a trade.

  • spit hot fiyah

gives 6ers financial flexibilty, tha´t is why they would do it

  • Riggs

only knock on kaman is his ability to get injured easily, but when he is on he is a solid 20 and 10 guy (if you had him on your fantasy team last year you know what i mean)

  • Elliot

I think a 3 team trade should go down. I mean Ellis to sixers, Iggy to clippers and warriors who could get a better 5 in Kaman as well as sheding cash later by not resigning him if they feel thats better. That way seems like no team is losing out

    do it

  • Willy

    do it

Works out for both teams really well.

I’ve heard the Lakers want Ellis too.
