Brandon Jennings Not Happy With Kevin Durant’s Twitter Trash Talk

Kevin Durant told Brandon Jennings that Josh Selby has “cooked” him on the regular this summer, to which Jennings did not take so kindly. Below is a screencap of their amusing Twitter trash-talk exchange (via I Am a GM):

    this is great.

  • DieselMechanic

Lol at KD. King Durant got so much clout. Cooks you on the regular lmbo

  • kobe

I love this!!!! you neer really get to see player talk ish ahah. Kevin Durant wasn’t playin games haha

  • http://WWW.SLAMONLINE.COM benn0

Kd is an arrogant muppet. He comes into the league acting all shy and humble, but his true colours have been revealed.

  • The Oppressor

LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, and Kevin Durant on the same team…enough said

  • http://slamonline.com The Black Rick Kamla

    @benn0….naw he’s just a dude from DC.

  • http://www.kb24.com The Seed

Kevin “Chucker” Durant needs to leave Brandon “All Star” Jennings alone. KD thinks he special now, just wait until Westbrook demands a trade from OKC, and see where KD goes.

  • http://slamonline.com The Black Rick Kamla

I however agree with Brandon here. NBA LA natives vs NBA DMV natives, in on a neutral court and LA wins every time. More talent overall….just facts. On the other hand if we are talking about just you know streetball guys, I’m taking the Goodman squad every time.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

This made me crack a Kool Aid smile. That is all.

  • http://slamonline.com The Black Rick Kamla

KD definitely gets the All-Star treatment wherever he goes off-bat (I mean just look at his game at the EBC). Brandon on the other hand always has a giant bullseye on his back wherever he goes. There is a reason you don’t see many NBA point guards doing the whole streetball circuit. Its typically bigs, because they know there just isn’t any lower-level competition out there for them (especially when you’re considering a 7 footer with in the building range). With the guards its a whole nother kind of animal, erry body out ther wants a piece and Brandon Jennings has played in some of the most hostile, grimy, environments in the country; from the Goodman in DC (grimy), the Melo in Baltimore (grimyx2), even went to Dyckman to go at the best PG in NY. Then he went to the NC Pro-Am even though he has absolutely no affiliation to NC basketball…kid just loves playing ball, and doesn’t back down from anyone.

  • SikhWitIt

Seattle needs to set up a team, they’d crush these cats.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

And it is surprising that y’all saw arrogance. That’s how men, at least the men I know, talk amongst themselves. I went to college in D.C., and they say “cook” all the time.

  • SwissArmyKnife5

@The Black Rick Kamla I agree with you bro. I’m not taking away from KD’s summer, but who can really guard him on the streetball circuit dude is a 6’10-7’0 guard. B Jennings is running the gauntlet everytime he steps on the court.Streetball is a small guards game, and he is destroying cats. With that said KD still gets the nod he’s just impossible to guard at that level.

LA is bigger but the DMV area produces talent worthy of consideration. DMV is actually tied with any city you put up there. Durant, Melo All NBA from the DMV.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

^So now you are including Baltimore in the DMV? Nah, no dice on that.

  • Dennis

this was not that serious, friendly trash talking is what this all is

  • http://adventoutpost.com Syl

^ Well not the DMV, but the areas are 30 minutes apart, both have talent. And if you combine the talent from both areas, respect has to be given

  • SikhWitIt

For us West Coast folk, what is the “DMV”?

  • http://www.boogiewilliams.com Boing Dynasty

@AP, The M in DMV still stands for Maryland dosnt it?

  • that dude

Brandon said Cali not just LA has more NBA ball players, so in that case you can include Bmore in this argument for the DMV. Im trying to figure out if they are arguing about Javelle Mcgee being from Cali or not where the hell is John Wall from then it’s definitely no where near the DMV. I’m from D.C and i never saw him up here. lol ( i know he is from N.C. b4 yall start tripping).

Love this. There’s an NBA Lockout going on but the Durants and Jennings of the league have really given basketball fans an exciting summer. Despite the lack of trades, signings and NBA Summer League, this has been an offseason of exciting play, tons of highlights, and the players really giving back and trying to keep fans into the game despite the league trying to push them away.

I stumbled upon some Twitter trash talk when I read something that KD tweeted then I followed the timeline both he and Brandon were writing. Man, it’s real fun. We see clips from the streetball tourney and we see Josh Selby holding his own and shining vs. Brandon. It seems even, but KD says he got “cooked”
And it’s just so much fun! Love it. If this season comes back I’m watching these summer league guys more carefully. Even Gary Forbes? He went 70 in a rec game? Who knew a back up NBA guard could shine, too?

  • Brooks C.

DMV stands for DC, Maryland, Virginia and believe it or not it is one of if not thee best at producing Basketball players

  • lexluther757

I’m from D.C., and DMV was not meant to group two entire states and D.C. together; its D.C., Maryland from Baltimore down, and VA as far south as Richmond. The 757 Newport News/ Hampton area where A.I., Mike Vick, etc. are from aren’t even included in that

  • http://www.twitter.com/dfrance21 dfrance21

Yeah the DMV is basically DC and the bordering counties, it doesn’t extend to the whole state of MD or VA.

I don’t think Jennings was really upset or anything, they were just going back and forth.

The Seed- you think Westbrook makes the game EASIER for Durant?

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

^ Word. I lived in the 757 (Norfolk) for a little while. They call that the Hampton Roads or Tidewater area, it’s not in the DMV.

  • http://slamonline.com The Black Rick Kamla

@Sikhwitit Seattle got ballers, just not enough size and note enough “streetball pedigree”….for lack of better speak…….don’t take that personally though

  • http://slamonline.com LakeShow

^ Jamaal Crawford and Nat Robb aren’t street ball enough for you? lol who is then…

  • SikhWitIt

Not sure about that one Black Rick Kamla. Seattle has produced more quality basketball players over the last ten years than any other city on the continent, and the trend looks to continue with the incredible amount of talent we have in the college ranks right now. T-Will is def. street ball, might throw Aaron Brooks in there too. Peyton Siva and Tony Wroten Jr. are definitely holding it down for the next generation–both those guys are more streetball than anybody on these squads–YouTube em if you don’t believe me.

  • http://www.ballislife.com/profiles/blogs/kobetop10moments nbk

I wouldnt bet against any Kevin Durant led team in a game without defense. But their little back and fprth was fun

  • LP

Shelby better than Conley?????? no, 2 different players…on the Grizzlies, there will be more use for Conley, rather than Shelby. The implied comment of the year tho: “Russell Westbrook makes the game easier for durant.”

  • respect

whos the dummy up there who said baltimore is not in the dmv lmao wat an idiot, but forreal the dmv is way better the only reason the first game was close was because the non nba guys on goodman got a chance to come in and got cooked and im sure ppl. in la would rather have kobe over b.jennings

  • bradley

calling people out for not being from la when half the people kd plays with did not grow up in the actual city limits, kd is the king now cuz he dropped 66 in rucker? 0 mvp’s 0 rings= not to much to talk about

  • bradley

LA’s squad would crush anyone, brandon, pierce, b davis, andre miller, derozan, mcghee, dwright, russ west, chandler, ariza, farmar, afflao, derrick williams, ty prince, paul george, harden

  • http://slamonline.com Tae

I thought KD was 6’9. Wats up with this 7 foot talk lol

  • Dru

Funny thing is Jennings got “cooked” by “To Hard To Guard”when he went to NY. Only reason you saw more of BJ highlights is because he’s an NBA player. Go look up them highlights of TH2G givin’ him the bizness.

  • http://www.ballislife.com/profiles/blogs/kobetop10moments nbk

He’s 7’0″ just doesnt want to be labeled as such. Kinda like KG when he was young

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

Seattle has always impressed me with their level of basketball talent. You’d be surprised.

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

Selby did cook Jennings a few times… He had around 40-60 points in two of the games where they played head-to-head. Jennings is nice though.

  • barnabusb

What the hell does any of that mean?

  • mytiman

First, he doesn’t want Kobe to play. Now, a little trash talk with KD? No wonder Jennings has no future.

  • lobo

Born and raised in baltimore and also lived around dc. Baltimore is not DMV. Montgomery county,PG County, and maybe parts of Charles, Howard and Anne Arundel counties are DMV. Google map that ish. Bmore and dc are very different and should never be group together. bmore club> gogo

  • Atl

Team GA would have Dwight Howard, Josh smith, Derrick Favors, Lewis Williams, JJ Hickson, Morris Almond, Al Farouq Aminu, Tony Douglas, Jordan Hill, Jarvis Hayes, Jodi Meeks, Garret Siler. Im not saying they’s beat BMore (durant, melo, selby, rudy gay, beasley) but we got talent too.

  • Humanomaly

    Who is Brandon Jennings?

  • Kyle

I can’t believe Durant who wears a little kid’s backpack while sitting down like he’s a 7 year old kid with downs has the nerve to actually talk sh!t of any kind after he and his teammates got BLITZED by Dirk.

He pretended to be the most humble, down to Earth player in the league with his TATZ all hidden but he’s nothing but an overrated guy who’s worse at D than Nash, has an overrated jumper, and gets more foul calls than Dwight Howard. How is that even possible? I know he flops a lot, and if you barely touch him he’ll cry for a flagrant(is that the cool thing to do in the NBA now?)

He’s 6’11 or 7 feet posing as a 6’9 small forward who is a legitimate ballhog.

  • kbj

Selby better scorer than Conley, but not a better PG.

  • http://www.gotthatwork.com Eazy

    Kyle… U mad? lmao

  • Noel Rose

I would want to come from a place were its harder to make it like the DMV area because you really have to be good.
Brandon J. cant even rump with KD forreal if Brandon is even that good I would bet he’s as good as Kevin D.

  • poohead

Going at it like to girls in highschool

  • eryl justine bacnis

hey.. i can’t really get it why some players doesn’t want to be labeled or enlisted as 7’0″…why? i can’t really get it.

  • http://slamonline.com Michael

    The Seed is the dumbest

  • MoMo

Lowkey, Detroit got the best ballers but some of em never make it tooo caught up in the streets, the economy is soo terrible, But if they grabbed 10 of Detroit BEST BALLERS I would put my money on them against any other city(league guys included)

  • golakeshow

Brandon jennings should shut the fu#k up until he gets as good as KD TREY FIVE.
