Derrick Rose Sure He Will Win ‘Multiple Championships’


In a sentiment shared by absolutely no one else, Derrick Rose thinks the Chicago Bulls’ roster is perfect as is. He’s also convinced that multiple titles are in his future (a not so unfamiliar theme with DRose). From Hoopshype: “Everybody is working out hard right now. If everyone comes in and work on their game, I think that we have a good shot of winning without getting anybody to come to my team. I think everything was just so new… Last year was my first time getting past the first round of the playoffs. Everything was just new to everybody, and that thing is gonna help us. Last year was the base for our team and the sky’s the limit for us.’ … Time has passed since you won the MVP trophy award. What are your feelings about it now? DR: ‘It was great but I’m not satisfied. I won’t be satisfied until I win a championship. I’m not satisfied at all. There’s not a doubt in my mind that I’m not going to win a championship. I’m going win multiple championships. It’s not a doubt in my mind.’”

    every superstar is arrogant…it’s deserved and it probably helps them cope… EVERYBODY even tim duncan… he probably was just better at not showing it… personally tho i do think rose was tired which is why he should be begging his gm for a better shooting guard.. and not saying he can win as is. also nbk is right him and lebron are alike… they probably do have a lot of respect fore each other.

    LOL. It’s pretty funny to see fans rationalize the differences between the two statements. They’re pretty much the same to me and I’m not bothered by either one. If one of them bothered you but you’re okay with the other one… your bias is showing. / I promised myself to not partake in these kind of arguments because, for the most part, these guys have mad respect for each other even though their fans are nuts (e.g. Bron and Kobe). / One correction though: Enigmatic, it’s not entirely accurate to say that Rose didn’t recruit out of loyalty for his current teammate. He didn’t recruit Bron and Wade.. but he kept blowing up Bosh’s phone. One could interpret that as him being ok to add a big but reluctant to add a ball-dominant wing that would take said ball off his hands. But that’s just an opinion. / Carry on… this is fun.

    I’ve never heard or read anywhere that Rose was recruiting Bosh.
    If anything, Joe Johnson was the one player Rose wanted the Bulls to sign more than any other FA, and you can’t tell me he’s not a ball-dominant wing.

    Rose was after Johnson as far as I heard. Never heard of Bosh talking to Rose. Although I did hear one report that said both Bosh and Wade were Chicago bound with Luol Deng leaving in a sign and trade with the clippers but that obviously was false. (And DatKid – Yes Johnson is very effective off-the-ball, check his last year in Phx when he led the league in 3pt % — but he obviously was against that role, especially if it meant putting it over money)

    Im just going to skip over all the posted comments so far (because i KNOW that with this subject matter the threads are going to be littered with stans and homers being hypocrites) and say that this isn’t a particularly outrageous statement. Rose has hella game. It just gets to me when youngsters (think 15 and under) try to tell me that drose coulda taken the answer…WHAT?! no disrespect, chicago, but allen iverson could outscore drose any day of the week (in Ivey’s prime). Now i have the misfortune of knowing how jordan fans feel when us kobe lovers try to say kob’s better…

    Lakeshow i actually don’t think lebron is THAT THAT arrogant… i thought it was fair to say the heat had a chance to when multiple championships… bc they do. i mean it’s I mean you have two game changing wing players and an excellent power forward. but yes i guess lebron is probably more arrogant than rose

    According to Sports Illustrated, the offer from the Owners to the players in the labor talks would reduce salaries by more then any of us previously thought. the example they use is Lamar Odom, he made $8.9M last season, if the players agreed to the new deal he would make roughly $2.6M next. That’s $5.2M of Lamar Odom’s contract going to the owner, and only that $2.6M of his already agreed upon contract (on a profitable team nonetheless) going into his pocket. — sorry for the off-topic comment but jumpin jehosaphat that’s a raw deal.

    I mean, saying prime AI would whip a 22-year old Rose is like saying prime Michael Jordan would whip a 22 year old Kobe Bryant.
    Well, no sh*t.
    But what about if both are in their primes? I’d still say MJ over Kobe, but it wouldn’t be nearly as easy.

    All of this and he’s only 22. I can’t imagine how many comments a D-Rose post will get when he’s actually close to his prime…which will be scary. At that point, he may be so good that whether he has a good two guard or not, there will be no hope at all for opposing teams trying to guard him. The Bulls-Thunder will be a great Finals matchup to watch in the future.

    I don’t know Roses’ limit as a ball-player. Cause, honestly, the way Rose is playing now, I thought THAT would be his height. And he’s 22 and he’s ridiculous. So, yeah, my heart says its foolish to say AI wouldn’t kill Rose but my head says, hold up a bit, let’s see how good Rose can get.

    everybody knows chicago is a 2 gaurd away from the Chip. If so, (& this has been on my mind for the longest time) . Why not make a play 2 MontaEllis ??
