LeBron James: Leave Tim Tebow Alone


LeBron James took to Twitter last night to angrily vent after hearing Tim Tebow get criticized on television. From the Sun-Sentinel: “Miami’s most maligned has offered his support to Florida football’s favorite son. Amid criticism from ESPN NFL analyst Merril Hoge regarding Tim Tebow’s potential to emerge as the starting quarterback of the Denver Broncos, Miami Heat forward LeBron James went on the defensive Wednesday night on his Twitter account. ‘Tim Tebow will succeed in the NFL,’ James posted. ‘He’s a hard worker, a student of the game, a natural born leader and most of all a WINNER! It takes time and he’ll be nice.’ James followed up by offering. ‘Listened to Merril Hoge today on SC and he was just blasting Tebow. The man hasn’t even play a full season and it’s only his 2nd year in.’ In another post, James said, ‘Guys get on that TV and act like they was all WORLD when they played. How ’bout encouraging him and wishing him the best instead of hating!!’”

Btw Lebron can make comments like that bc he played quarterback all through high school and could’ve played football anywhere. But Seriously? Why all these pointless whiny rants?     1st- I don’t see why you all have your panties in a bunch. You guys are acting a little too sensitive. Hoge gave his critique based on what he saw on film. He’s saying at this time Tebow is not ready!

    2nd- I can’t see how you can refute that he’s not ready. He never effectively went through his progressions to find his receivers in college. He didn’t need too at that level. But I’ll be damned if you’re going to say he doesn’t need that skill in the NFL. How many top level NFL QBs (with the exception of Michael Vick) do you know of?

    Poverty provides just as much ammunition for self destruction as wealth. All you have to do is pay a visit to your typical inner city neighborhood to witness that fact. Since I’m there regularly, at murder scenes no less, I say that whatever trouble athletes get into with their money is far less serious than the trouble far too many black men get into without money. And I’m dead serious.

    I agree with Bron Merril Hoge was a mediocre player at best so who what makes him such a viable source of talent when he never had any at all. It kills me how these career back-ups and washups get on T.V and critique other people on what they should have done in the instance when they were in the same position when they played they stunk up the place. My thing is you do it first before you start trying to tell others how they should do it. Plus what was the highest accolades Hoge ever got in sports other than getting concussions?????? One word HATER !!!!!!!

    1st of all some of the greatest coaches and evaluators were just mediocre. Coach K wasn’t all world on the court. Neither was Belichick on the field. So what in the hell makes any of you think that a person had to be the greatest at playing the sport in order to know it and how to judge talent. You people create a double standard by criticizing hoge for saying that tebow isn’t ready to be a starting nfl qb because you have developed your own opinion that he is ready. So you all have your opinions. The only difference besides your differing views is that hoge gets paid for his. I wish tebow the best too, but i’m not convinced he’s ready at this time either.
