Polladaday: Best Dunker?

We recently discussed who the best is of all time, but at the current moment, who throws down the meanest dunks in the NBA?

Who's currently the best dunker in the NBA?

    Nick Young? Demar Derozan?

  • AMPduppp

Cosign EJ. Nate Robinson shouldn’t even be an option…

  • ricoh

    I go for erick dampier

  • WuTangSlang

Please gimme Derrick Rose, Demar or Nick Young over Nate anyday…
Blakes a good dunker no doubt but very much over rated, Demar just has that bag of tricks vibe that Blake is missing, and also, what about JR Smith?

i voted blake griffin but i think dwight is probably the most creative out of the bunch in a dunk contest sense.

  • LA Huey

This poll needs to be more clear. Are we talking in-game or in a contest? I’ll take Dwight in a contest but Blake in a game.

Blake is the best in-game dunked by far. However, Dwight should win every contest simply because of the creativity. I voted for Dwight only because Nate Robinson is an option so there’s no way this is about in-game dunks.

You’d have to throw in Eric Gordon, Demar Derozan, and Paul George in there somewhere. All of them are really really good Dunkers. However I don’t agree with the people saying Derrick Rose. D-Rose does only 2 types of dunks. He is hardly a good dunker.

Uhh, look up a mixtape, he has some really nice one hand dunks and he dunks on people too.

  • Carli

    JR Smith!!!

  • Will Lee

depends if its in game or contest. Griffin is by far the best in game dunker

Those of you saying Nate shouldn’t be an option should go back and look at dude’s highlights on YouTube. Easily the most impressive dunker in the NBA (not talking about in-game). Quit hating.

Sikhwitit: His dunks look less and less impressive when you remember how many times he failed at them. Its not a good sign when you force the NBA to add a fail-limit to the dunk contest.

  • Mary Swanson

demar derozan was robbed in the dunk contest

  • Mary Swanson

ill just toss brian cardinal into the mix as well

The best dunkers in the NBA have never competed in the dunk contest, and have barely taken part in actual games. Like James White a few years ago. Rodney Carney – Patrick Ewing Jr – Von Wafer. Gerald Green if he could ever get back in the L. — Of the guys mentioned, in-game, I’d take Blake Griffin, just because he goes over people.

    Luis Scola!

  • deadbored

    @Youngindy21 seriously? 2 dunks?

  • Youngindy21

He may do a few more than that but my point was D-Rose’s dunks aren’t all that impressive. He does that double clutch dunk wayy too much for me.

  • flash

if you want an in your face poster dunks i go for dwade. his victims goes far and wide. and his dunks always gets you unexpectedly

  • Broadway

    Javale McGee.

Caboose: Nate may not dunk very often in games, but when he does, he does things that no other player on that list can come close to matching. Like I said, go and look it up on YouTube–going all the way back to his days at U-Dub. Further, I don’t think the number of tries detracts from what he did one bit. He is 5’6″, I think everyone here is really discounting really how freakish these dunks are. I’m not even sure Blake could do a through-the-legs at that height.

Blake Griffin. LeBron looks like he lost some lift, to be honest. Still don’t know if it was injury related during his 1st Heat season. Nate doesn’t dunk alot in game and if he does, he’ll probably just get a simple dunk off. Drose has sick hops, he should be included. The dunk vs knicks, against the Heat in the playoffs, alley-oop vs detroit, those were all spectacular, and for a PG, he dunks alot.

    It’s clearly Blake Griffin.

    Timofey Mozgoz

  • Big Pugg

I say its Blake then Rose, Wade and Dwight or Derozan

  • http://LOOKATMENOW brandon

    nah, its clearly scalabrine :p

  • youngmuggsy

@ricoh – Dampier’s not really a dunker though, he’s more known for his Hakeem-esque post moves and feathery soft touch around the hoop.
