Music: Lou Williams, “Break From Myself”

The 24-year-old guard is staying busy during the lockout.

Over the past couple of months, Philadelphia 76ers guard Lou Willams has shown himself to be a lot more than just a basketball player—he’s somewhat of an aspiring rapper, too. This weekend he took to Twitter to release a new, thoughtful track. Featuring the soulful sounds of K. Michelle, “Break From Myself” is some of LouWill’s best work yet by far. If the NBA Lockout drags on, look for a lot more music from the 24-year-old ATLien.

Not feeling this, but I’m trying to figure out if I’m really giving him an objective ear, or if I don’t like it because I know he’s an NBA player trying to rap.

I mean, he kinda sorta started grabbing my attention when he started rapping about being away from his daughter and all that cause rappers/ballers usually don’t talk about that kind of stuff,
but then right afterward he started rapping about how dope his penthouse is,
and then right after THAT starts rapping about how he’s in the streets all the time,
then bout how he never been to jail,
then how he’s a cold-hearted thug or something.
Dude is alll over the place…

you think Lou can afford more than basic synth production. I never expect jocks to have a decent flo either.

  • dfrance21 Posted: Sep.12 at 4:00 pm
Real producers probably don’t want to waste their top notch beats on his subpar flow.

As a matter of fact, (opinion) this man is the worst rapper of all times.
Never, EVER thought that I would say that Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em is the second worst rapper in the annals of rap History… but I’m stating it now.
Take that auto tune/tone off of this Syleena Johnson clone, and let us see if this woman can really sing.
