LeBron James Recruiting Steve Nash and Jamal Crawford on Twitter

LeBron was quite busy on the Twitter machine yesterday, as he made fun of his own hairline, shouted out SLAM for ranking him as the top player in the L, and even threw in a bit of playful recruiting/tampering:

“Would love to see [Jamal Crawford] in a Heat uni! What u guys say?”
“Maybe @SteveNash in a Heat uni! So we can help each other get our 1st ring”

I’m waiting for someone cry that this is why the labor talks are so bad right now. 1st?

  • MIGZ

thats a great idea, demand it lebron! you guys need a point guard and a back up shooting guard

  • Thor

    I feel sick

  • ATLFan

As a Hawks fan it is Sad to know that Jamal Crawford will no longer be wearing a Hawks jersey next season. But if I was Jamal i would join Derrick Rose and the Chicago bulls. They got all the right pieces and a great coach. Screw the Heat.

  • ATLFan

I hope LeBron never gets a ring. lol

  • D12FSU

    they need a center

  • http://www.reverbnation.com/OPMusic @jkiiDougie_sLe @OPMgz

    this is wack

This guy is the ultimate buddy hustler! Dude cant win it already with his team so he wants to stockpile more people to do his lifting. Crawford is clutch though so that would enable Lebron to hide from the ball in the 4th quarters waning minutes. This dude is just a stats guy. Nike and Espn made him more than he is. People need to deal with hit. HATE KOBE OR LOVE HIM, Kobe has been the best and has survived the Vince Carters, AIs, McGradys and even the Lebrons that the media has tried to put over him.

pls nash dont do it! its a shame to see you sign with these dudes just to win.

    ……Skip Bayless somewhere salivating

  • Riggs

crawford to the bulls would make my fav. nba 2k12 team unstoppable.

Dirk wins ring, Bron Bron wins SLAM.

  • T-Money

as a fan of basketball being played at the absolute highest level, watching nash direct a secondary break with wade and james on the wings would be almost too much to handle lol.

  • AD

crawford to the nets…. we need a backup pg

  • L-Dub20

Both would be great pieces for Miami. Mike Miller fizzled out. They dont have a true point, yet they do need a center. Nash would be a great facilitator (in which Chalmers and/or Bibby) are not. Crawford off the bench would definitely be beast. I think alot of us are just like damn, a whole squad of all-stars? But shoot if i was in the NBA and I could pick and chose my teammates, why not chose the best? Why not chose to play w/ some of the top players in the L? Its about winning, and even if I were to win 10 rings with a stacked squad at the end of my career, who can take away my rings? NO ONE!

  • CubicleWorker

This guy hey… two superstars weren’t enough, so now recruit a couple more all stars… how about sack up, be a leader, be a man, get a heart and don’t celebrate winning the championship after winning the second round.. can’t stand this guy

  • L-Dub20

…..yes the ? will be raised and debated, would they have won without all the players they obtained? Probably not, but Jordan wouldnt have one w/o Pippen, Shaq w/o Kobe, Parker/Duncan/Ginobili, the starting 5 of the pistons (billups, rip, prince, wallace n wallace). Fact of the matter is, no matter if your style is 1 all-star and role players (Mavs 2011) or a bunch of stars, (celtics, lakers with magic, worthy, kareem etc)…there will be no “*” next to their names just because they were a more “talented” team. It will simply says CHAMPIONS!!!

  • L-Dub20

@cubicleworker—–so you are telling me that if you were an elite player in the NBA or any other sport for that matter. And you had the ability to chose your own team….you would chose a bunch of average players that you would have to carry every single night/day in order to just “stay in a game”. It wouldnt make any sense. The game is not about winning a championship with a team of players (like lebrick had in cleveland)….the game is simply about winning championships. Im not a huge lebron fan, but i feel like decisions he made in the past brought him to this place of semi-hatred from the L as well as fans. If Kobe,Pierce or DRose were trying to recruit nash, no one would have an issue. But since the Heat have kinda turned into the league villians with their preseason parade and “YES.WE.DID.” interviews, people love to hate. Agree of disagree?

  • http://www.slamonline.com James the Balla

lol so they need the best 6th man in the game, and now the best passer in the game. And if they don’t win a ship? They will need to get Dwight for Center, Joe Johnson for the 2 spot. Maybe go with a strong back up point guard with Rajon Rondo. Rudy Gay coming off the bench… Let’s just say the Miami Heat needs an all star team is recruiting because not only have the top 2 players in the world, with another top 15 player… but you need more top 10 and top 15 players… this is brutal.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

If you have NBA 2K12 take a gander at the squads Magic was rolling with in the height of Showtime.
YOu telling me that wasn’t a stacked squad. When I’m playing the computer I’m almost thinking “This just isn’t fair.”

  • http://www.slamonline.com Slick Ric

this guy suppose to be the best basket-ball player and he needs Bosh, Wade, Nash and Jamal Crawford to win a championship. smh

  • bike

Well, if you were an aging superstar like Nash and wanted one more shot at the chip, where else would you go? A loaded squad does win games and championships. Having a franchise player is needed but no franchise player in history won multiple chips by themselves.

  • O

First LeBron needed a wing man to help him win a title. Didn’t work out. Then he needed a Big 3 to win a title. Didn’t work out. Now he’s trying to get a Big 4 and a sick shooting guard to come off the bench to help him win his first title? Why are have we crowning him the greatest player in the NBA again???

  • http://slamonline.com The Black Rick Kamla

@T-Money darn skippy bout that bro lol, get giddy inside thinking about it lol

  • http://slamonline.com LakeShow

Ya, and the Lakers need to grab Cp3, Dwight, and Carmelo. Back up point Rose. Back up 2 guard, D-Wade. Common, just win a title with a few superstars instead of 5. Went from having an average to above average team in Cleveland to a freaking superstar team in Miami, but he wants more. Whats that going to look like for your legacy LeBron??! First chip he wins is a team with Nash, D-Wade, Bron, Bosh, Crawford, Miller, Haslem, Chalmers, Bibby. Ya thats going to look real good for the legacy Bron.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Alf

um…I’m Canadian so a fan of Nash, but even I have to ask:

Is Nash a substantial upgrade over Bibby?

At their ages now, would they not be the same defensive liabilities in which ‘Bron/Wade/Bosh have to pick up the slack?

  • Travesty

Coming from a nash fan alf, Nash is a better and more consistent shooter and he can run an offense much better than bobby. I might be a little biased though, haha. Look at his stats last season. The that’s with Lopez, Warrick, and Vince Carter as teammates

  • don

if nash goes to the heat, the heat would probably average around 20 dunks a game… wowwwww……….

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

It still amazes/amuses me that so many people are against seeing GOOD teams with GOOD players playing GOOD basketball… Who WOULDN’T want to see Steve Nash on the Heat from a pure basketball standpoint? Give me a break, seriously.

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

Fans of other teams, obviously, Teddy.

  • LP

beggin for players???…. he is a basketball groupie…somebody run a train on this guy..

  • http://www.triplejunearthed.com/dacre Dacre

As the 2nd biggest STEVE NASH FAN on the slam threads (#1 belongs to Jukai and it’s not even a close finish…) I want to weigh in on this post.
Steve Nash could very well WANT to go to Miami and it could be the kind of move that brings him closer to the championship ring but that process of leaving Phoenix high and dry (because honestly, it’s only going to happen through a trade and what can Miami honestly give them….Patrick Beverly, Mike Miller and Joel Anthony???) is not in Steve Nash’s make up…as a basketball player.
I could see Robert Sarver putting something together in which he OFFERS something along the lines of Steve Nash for Chris Bosh but that would be the only player of the big 3 that Miami would even CONSIDER moving and I don’t think they want Steve THAT bad…ask LeBron actually….would HE TRADE BOSH FOR NASH???
Nash has built is basketball legacy on team-first thematics, and thats to say not to go to the best team first but to dig in and represent the greater Phoenix area/Canada to the best of his abilities – the idea of going to Miami flies in the face of that mindset.

  • Pokee

Can someone explain what Lebron did to deserve do much hate? I guess everyone forgot how Kobe wanted out of LA because of what? He couldn’t do it all on his own. And who did he get for help?- Pau Gasol for virtually nothing. Lebron got Antwan Jamison, Wally, and what a older Shaq? Give the man a break for wanting to win.

  • coggie13

@Alf… Tell me your not serious. Please.

  • coggie13

Look at the teasm that have won the ship in the last 10 years. All stacked. The best team wins the championship. Not the best player. That is all.

  • http://www.triplejunearthed.com/dacre Dacre

All stacked…..??? coggie13 – your short term memory is atrocious…. The Dallas Mavericks were the most opposite of STACKED as any team I could possibly INVENT to win a championship. The San Antonio Spurs were not STACKED, with an ageing David Robinson…Avery Johnson (basically a coach with shorts on…)… Matt Bonner…Robert Horry… such a troll.

  • http://www.triplejunearthed.com/dacre Dacre

    …The Houston Rockets…?? Not Stacked.

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

    Dallas was pretty stacked.
Y’all jump to superstars right away, but to me, hell yeah Dallas was stacked.
    It starts with Dirk.
    Hall of fame point guard.
One of the best defensive bigs in the L.
One of the best and most clutch sixth man in the L.
One of the best perimeter shooters in the L.
Check that, TWO of the best perimeter shooters in the L.
One of the most versatile players in the L (well…used to be…)
One of the most mercurial scoring guards in the L.
All told, not counting Caron Butler, that team had 4 players who has played in an all-star game.
They were DEFINITELY not “the most opposite of stacked”.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Wayno

bron bron should go to chicago to get his ring

  • Dre

    Enigmatic was spot on.

  • http://www.triplejunearthed.com/dacre Dacre

dang it my comment in reply didn’t come through?!?!

Basically it was a succinct rebuttle regarding my stance – It was a beautiful response. Shame it got lost somewhere in cyber space.

  • http://www.triplejunearthed.com/dacre Dacre

It went something like this: The Dallas Mavericks weren’t stacked. They didn’t win through sheer talent (the other team not adjusting their offense/defensive activity had ALOT to do with their downfall in the finals) and my hyperbole was purely to draw attention to coggie13′s comments regarding, every team in the last 10 years were stacked… they weren’t stacked. They won’t be stacked when Caron Butler gets back to full health either.

  • L-Dub20

Amazing to me how everyone sees LeBron as this super talent that needs more super talent to even “compete”. Have we all forgotten his years @ home where he led the team in every category and just didnt have the assistance to get the job done? Every single team that has one the chip, has had 2 or more star quality players. Not just role players but dependable guys. From the Lakers to the Spurs, Pistons, Celtics, even the Heat in 06′ with Superman and Flash. And at those times, some of them had the biggest names(best players in the L) on the same squad, yet everyone was jazzed to see them play. The objective, and the only objective when entering the L is to win and win it all!!!

  • http://Yahoo Oldiebutgoodie

Lebron is a joke! King my ass!

  • http://Yahoo Oldiebutgoodie

Look guys, I agree with others that agree that ESPN and the NBA have all wanted to hype up Lebron to be the king of the NBA and all he’s accomplished is a MVP of the year and the way he made his move to join D. Wade in Miami was disgusting and most people agree that he doesn’t have a heart of a Lion as many other NBA players have demonstrated! I have more respect for players such as Nash, Rose, Durrant and many others! Lebron is the joke of the NBA!!
