LaMarcus Aldridge Wants Jamal Crawford to Play in Portland

Jamal Crawford is a wildly popular free agent among recruiting NBA stars this offseason/lockout. LaMarcus Aldridge tells the Oregonian that he desperately wants Crawford to sign with the Blazers: “When Aldridge played with Crawford during Kevin Durant’s charity game in Oklahoma City last month, Crawford expressed a desire to play for the Blazers. Aldridge didn’t merely embrace the idea, he lobbied for the move on Twitter, writing: ‘Rip City when (Crawford) come play in my game we need to make him feel at home so he will sign with us!’ The Blazers and then-GM Rich Cho tried to trade for Crawford at the trade deadline last season and Aldridge remembers hearing rumors about the move at the time. So he asked Crawford if they were true. ‘He said, ‘Yeah,’ and that he would love to come play in Portland,’ Aldridge said. So Aldridge is drumming up support. ‘I’m not being bashful,’ Aldridge said. ‘I would love for him to come play in Portland. I put it out there so he knows I’m serious. If he really wants to do that, I wanted him to know I’m behind it. He’s a really good player. He doesn’t mind coming off the bench. Or starting. He can bring a different dynamic to the team. He’s great at pick and rolls; he’s a really good shooter. When I get double teamed, it would leave him open in the corner.’”

LeBron also wants him in Miami… I know who I would join.

Portland would be one heck of a team when they do get Jamal. Everyone on that team can score buckets at any given time! Very dangerous team indeed.

@Caveman Roy will likely get amnestied and move on to another team, don’t you think?

Jamal is great baller, but Portland dont need him. They got Roy and Matthews at 2 and Roy will be back when the season starts!!! Look out doubters!

I don’t want to doubt Roy. But looking at his history (and the history of other players with injuries similar to his) he wont be back. He needs to join a contender and redefine himself to squeeze out a few more years of his pro career.

Roy will come back strong… Portland needs Gods strength not another pg…. they have the talent to win a championship

Wow, everyone wants him. Dude is gonna get paiiiid.

J Crawford is NOT the JC portland needs.

Should go to Chicago instead if the Bulls made a solid offer. Assuming the money is similar, it’s a choice between broken kneecaps and becoming The Microwave for a rising Bulls team.

he would be a good fit we can always use dept to our team, yea the bulls are good, but so are the blazers! If the blazers can stay heathy we have a great chance for greatness. good luck to all teams against the blazers when the lockout ends.there coming!

The Bulls would be the BEST fit. Paxson needs to start unloading contracts now especially of the undersized overrated Eskimo known as Carlos Boozer!!!

hes been tweeting this for a couple of weeks now. so roy’s fat contract with 3 years left is gonna get cut and replaced by a 3 year fat contract of crawford (if it happens)? MAKES NO SENSE

Who is LaM throwing under the bus, haha? This is a guard-rich team.

    Raymond Felton G 6-1 205 06/26/1984 North Carolina 5
    Armon Johnson G 6-3 195 02/23/1989 Nevada-Reno 1
    Wesley Matthews G 6-5 220 10/14/1986 Marquette 2
    Patrick Mills G 6-0 185 08/11/1988 St. Mary’s (CA) 2
    Tanguy Ngombo G 6-4 204 R
    Brandon Roy G 6-6 211 07/23/1984 Washington 5
    Nolan Smith G 6-2 185 07/25/1988 Duke R
    Elliot Williams G 6-5 180 06/20/1989 Memphis 1

nice copy and paste job – i don’t think ngombo is blazers (twolves?). patty mills signed in australia for the season. the only guards getting minutes on that team are Felton, Roy, Matthews and probably Smith. Johnson lost his job last year to Mills and Williams is still recovering from surgery.

@EtheKnickFan … John Chimpo is who I’ll assume you meant. Actually Crawford would be a great fill in while Roy readjusts to the NBA and probably has to change his style up a bit. I think the Blazers will hang on to him because the fans would burn down the Rose Garden if Roy got cut for any reason. That man is beloved in Portland.

BRoy is to Portland the same as what Dwayne Wade is to Miami, so i highly doubt they would trade him off just because he’s “recovering”, (i personally think hes already in the best shape he will be in, in the best way) but as much as i’d hate to say it, if i were him, i would go to Miami instead :(
