Chris Paul Aims to Bring an NBA Title to the Clippers

Chris Paul’s expectations for his new team are higher than perhaps anyone else’s. CP3 talked about winning an NBA championship during his introductory presser as a Clipper. From the LA Times: “He had joined the team when the Clippers acquired him from New Orleans on Wednesday for Eric Gordon, Chris Kaman, Al-Farouq Aminu and the unprotected first-round draft pick they got from the Minnesota Timberwolves. ‘I’m excited to bring a championship here to L.A. in a Clippers uniform,’ Paul said. ‘Knowing that they’ve never won a championship here, I wanted to be a part of something like that.’ That sounds like a tall order even for Paul, a four-time All-Star many consider the best point guard in the NBA. During the 30 years Donald Sterling has owned the Clippers, they have been to the playoffs only four times, the last time in 2006. ‘I know about the history of the franchise and different things like that,’ Paul said. ‘But this decision wasn’t about the past. It was about the present and about the future.'”
