NBAers React to CP3 Non-Trade

A tweetcap.

It was all good just a day ago. After news broke that Chris Paul had landed in L.A. in a trade that’d move Lamar Odom, Kevin Martin, Luis Scola and Goran Dragic to New Orleans and Pau Gasol to Houston, Lakers fans rejoiced, believing their favorite team would now feature one of—if not the—best point guards in the NBA. But only a few hours later, word hit that commissioner David Stern had blocked the deal, and that none of the players involved would be changing squads, at least not yet. On cue, some of the League’s best hit Twitter with their reactions, which range from surprised to downright upset. Roll through the gallery above to see ‘em all.

Scola just made me laugh. His airport line a few mins ago was great.

  • Flight

That Reggie Evans tweet made me spit my coffe out.

    “Buck Nasty” LOL!

The Crazy thing about this is, Stern turned EVERYONE against him. The players, the columnists, the fans, front offices league-wide. This is was just the worst possible thing Stern could have done, cancelled a fair trade for “basketball reasons” – might as well have pulled a Larry David and blamed parkinsons.

  • Dirtybird

I wonder was that the Price is Right horn fail sound in his tweet.

  • T. Brown

Danny Granger’s name change tweet and Jack McClinton’s tweet says it all… Stern is power drunk and on the verge of ruining the league… on another note, Dan Gilbert is one of the worst things to ever happenn to the NBA

  • sancma

Scola’s last comment = Best comment! LOL

I’m glad this trade got PWNED. Competitive balance, people… competitive balance. Psst… CP3 is still going to the Knicks.

  • http://www.kittywildeonline.com/ RunNGun

And like the CP3′s Hornets jersey, NO LA!

    Stern rigged the League.
That’s what he did. Once you take that step, you can’t go back.

  • B. Angus

yeah, reggie’s comment made me lol, that was cold as ice

  • Lew alcindor

lol @ how OJ Mayo is the only one who sounds reasonable.

  • Cizzo

I hate the NBA now all the rules and BS they putting in the game….Nobody put the hate on what the GARBAGE ASS HEAT pulled lastyear…..Collective Bargaining what?

  • jay

I mean cmonnn “BUCK NASTY”. LOL!!!

  • Lawrence

For me this trade doesn’t make sense..why in the world will you trade 2 main supporting players for 1 point guard?!wtf.

  • ducktapemob

@lawrence we were gonna get david west in a sign and trade too!

  • AlbZ

    I wonder what Kobe thinks.

  • LaKid

Laker fans were excited? Not all of us.. Still think Stern’s decision is messed up but I certainly do not think losing Odom and Gasol for Paul makes us better. Worse actually.

  • D12FSU

Scola handled that perfectly. Lamar Odom needs to take notes

  • LaKid

@ducktapemob – David West was never part of the deal, not sure where your sources are coming from, but I don’t think he was ever on the block during this. The trade was agreed to and had nothing whatsoever to do with West.

Rasheed Wallace is somewhere thinking “yep”…smh

  • GC6

The hornet would have been better off aswell

I normally dislike it when athletes (or anyone) acts like a jerk, but if I were CP3, LO, or PAU GAS, I would not show up to training camp at all.

  • http://shinefluid@aol.com yada

you CANT FORCE PPL TO DO WHAT THEY DONT WANNA DO!!! how simple is that? what is life dont ppl understand about this? you cant force anybody to play anywhere. companies fire employees all the time. its their right. employees move to companies they CHOOSE all the time.

  • feez_22

Chris showed up to training camp today. must have been totally awkward lmao but hey at least he showed. Lamar is still crying and sobbing in his room inconsolably with bosh on the phone and khloe by his side.

  • feez_22

btw danny granger’s tweet was awesome.

  • wisemann

Is the NBA even about basketball anymore? What is this bs?

  • Drey

So, anyone else notice RunNGun contradicting himself there? Or was that just me?

  • Dirty Mike

Tony allen needs to learn to use a question mark. If you’re reading Tony, it looks like this —> ?

I really like the way Luis Scola has handled and carried himself in this situation. Very classy guy, and just an all-around cool dude. I’m gonna miss him as a Rocket if this trade goes through. Any team would be lucky to have him.

  • http://hibachi20.blogspot.com Moose

    Who is Jack McClinton…

  • Stickz

@dirty mike- give Tony a break. His punctuation skills were in the rental car along with his Christmas gifts.

  • Cool Dude

    David Stern @ CP3

Tell me how my ass tastes

  • Sir Barkley

    David “Slave-master” Stern

  • Sir Barkley

I apologise for my last post. I just realized after i posted it that that could come across as quite racist, and im really sorry, that’s not what i inteeded to say at all.

  • GoGo

ReggieEvans could have written the following:
