New Orleans Hornets Re-Sign Carl Landry With One-Year Deal

The Hornets moved Chris Paul and revamped their roster in the process, but they aren’t finished—ESPN is reporting they’ve re-signed Carl Landry to a one-year, $9 million deal: “The New Orleans Hornets and power forward Carl Landry have agreed to a one-year, $9 million deal, according to sources with knowledge of the situation. With the NBA intent on maintaining as much financial flexibility as possible before selling the Hornets, Landry was offered a bigger number on a one-year basis and took it, sources said. He was eager to keep playing for Hornets coach Monty Williams after a successful stint last season after arriving in New Orleans in a trade-deadline deal with Sacramento. Landry also spoke seriously with teams such as New Jersey and Portland, but wanted to stay in New Orleans if possible. The 6-9 power forward averaged 11.9 points and 4.6 rebounds last season with the Kings and Hornets.”

Well he’s not gonna have many guys to compete with for minutes at his position. Aside from Gordon, he may even be the focal point.

I expect a really solid season from him.

Hard to say what the HOrnets do. They have 2 double double centers, so it would be hard to believe Landry plays more than 28 minutes a game.

that cpe was good deal all around. NEW ORLEANS HAS A GOOD TEAM!! when cp3 was out and jarret jack was point they were STILL winning. now u add the 3 players they have. no they dont have a star player but STILL alotta depth and good players. hell i expect them to be a 8th seed

The Hornets will be one of the worst 5 teams in the league.

@yada if i am not mistaken alot of the minutes when Jack was starting were also split with DC. Which I believe he is no longer there. And there star player is automatically EG. No one else can put up 25 consistantly. Butler might be able to swing 20 a game. But Im sure their go to guy will be EG this year. On paper the do have a good squad. But its mainly about chemistry. Without that, it doesnt matter who you are, you wont win games.

Landry is NOT 6’9. He’s just not. Scola is a ‘short’ 6’9 and seeing Landry stand next to him as a Rocket, he looked closer to 6’7.
