Report: Orlando Magic Listening to All Dwight Howard Trade Offers

According to the Orlando Sentinel, the Magic have opened up their phone lines and email inboxes to all NBA teams willing to discuss a trade for Dwight Howard: “The Magic are talking to more teams than the ones on Dwight Howard’s wish list. They will listen to anybody who is willing to take a risk and give up a few good men for Howard if he can lead them to the NBA Finals as a temp. It’s another reason why they will wait until the March 15 deadline to make a deal for Howard, after he’s played 44 games in Orlando. His new team would land him for 22 games, plus the postseason. Far-fetched? Absolutely. Sounds more like a means to put pressure on the teams that Howard has approved (Nets, Mavericks, Lakers). But the Magic think some teams might take a flyer, hoping they can convince Howard to re-sign with them.”

LAKERS ALL DAY. PURPLE & GOLD WOULD LOOK REAL GOOD ON U

  • LA Huey

Charizard, Meowth, and Arbok for Dwight and Hedo’s contract.

  • RjAdin

CHICAGO BULLS is the BEST fit for D-HOWARD! giving up joakim noah, carlos boozer, and taj gibson will be a good offer or may be mikola mirotics! i hope the shoe company will not play major in howard decision! :)

Gonna say he might write off the lakers by then. People say he wants to play with kobe but kobe is gonna be on his way out. They gave up all the big men. One they gave the mavs for a bag of chips. Think as the season goes on he is gonna have a good look at every team. The teams with the good appeal are teams with young point but good point guards. He coud go the instant championship route or go to a team that he is willing to wait a year or two at most but yet still playing at high level and get more than one ring. The hardest thing for a team to do is have great talent at both the point and center. After that any rebuild process a team has to take would speed up big time

If he went to Chicago..can you say dynasty?

  • http://staticseth.blogspot.com/ Seth

Chicago Bulls send Brian Scalabrine and two picks.

  • Shecky Shabazz

    ^Steal for Orlando right there

The Mavs could really use him right now. But who would they give up for him??

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

Phoenix should atleast try and send Lopez, Gortat, Morris, (Cap Filler) and Draft Picks. If Dwight is in Phoenix already going into next summer and they have enough money to sign another max free agent, with Nash, Hill, Dudley, Howard on the roster then they will immediately jump back into contention, and thus become competitive again. (I am fully aware this is one of the least likely scenario’s around, but I would like to be able to go watch actual competitive basketball, instead of the crap-show that Sarver molded last summer).

haha @ Seth and Shecky. seriously, though, Noah, Boozer, and GIbson would be way too much to lose. Noah and Boozer would be fair, I think.

  • ripslam

Noah/Gibson/Boozer would be a decent deal I think. Replace Gibson with Deng and that’s too much to give up. But Noah isn’t about to come off the bench for Dwight, so you might as well ship him out. Boozer has been a sh*t sandwich for Chicago thus far. Gibson is a nice project, but if you can give him up to get Dwight Howard to do it. This would be the best possible deal for Orlando I think, and Dwight would literally have to be insane not to re-sign with the Bulls. This whole ordeal is truly going to reveal whether D12 values marketability/money or championships.

    that was for gp23

Why even make a trade for Howard? it would be mid season and right before the playoff run. You give up good pieces, probably great core players to obtain Howard. I think its best to wait it out. If you want Howard…hope he signs with your team next season. But say a trade is made and he doesnt vibe with the coach or players or whatever…he can still opt out next year. Id wait.

  • http://nyill.wordpress.com/ O

I’ma put this out there right now: Stat, Chandler and Fields for Dwight and Jameer.

  • http://www.slamonline.com megatron

why would orlando want to take boozer? having boozer is an affliciton not unlike one of the players they are trying to get rid of already.

  • dma

OK City for Serge Ibaka and Westbrook somehow. 3 team it.

  • jose

    Trade him for Shaq!

  • Ill Smith

Horford, Smith & Teague to ORL
    Howard & Nelson to ATL

    Make it happen Atlanta.

  • bull22

does not matter who you are but losing an entire team to get dwight howard does not look like a sweet move. while he is one of league’s best defenders and probably best rebounder but he still needs a good backup, it took shaq 11 years just to dip down close to howard’s best season of 22.9pts a game.

  • Everynowhere

lopez, bynum, or the pokemon LA Huey mentioned. I think they’ll trade for bynum if lakers are willing to take hedo as well. Lakers will probably use their amnesty clause on hedo’s contract. why did we have a lockout again? haha

  • shtrobi-1

I hear ya dma, but I would keep Ibaka. Put Howie n Durantula together and the other pieces will not matter. Maynor is looking good/reasonable at the point, they should flip Westbrook now, maybe throw in Pedrick Gerkins and Sefolosha. This will free up the 2 for Harden ensuring they don’t lose him latter to a team that will promise him a greater “Star-role”.

Starters OKC – Maynor, Harden, Durant, Ibaka n Howard.
Starters Magic – Nelson, Westbrook, Richardson, Davis n Gerkins.

  • orl.chris

Nah, OKC is the best trade destination. Trade Dwight for Westbrook, Perkins, and Ibaka.

  • http://Slamonline.com nbk

    Can’t amnesty a player you didn’t sign

  • http://www.aol.com wagers

If the Thunder trade off Ibaka I will cry.

  • PB

If it works salary cap-wise, the Heat should trade Bosh for Howard…

  • http://slamonline.com Ugh

Otis Smith would totally accept that Scal-and-two-picks trade if the salaries matched.

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

No team would 3-team with Orlando to not get Dwight Howard. Because that team would probably end up with Hedo Turkoglu.

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

I’m liking that trade, Omar. That would be dope, and Adidas would LOVE Dwight in New York.
