Chauncey Billups Wants Kenyon Martin on the Clippers


Once the Chinese Basketball Association season’s ends, free agent Kenyon Martin will be free to sign with whichever NBA team he chooses. According to the LA Times, Chauncey Billups is hoping it’s the Clippers: “Kenyon Martin to the Clippers? Chauncey Billups would like to see that happen. In fact, the Clippers’ veteran guard said Saturday that he has reached out to the free-agent forward, a former teammate of his in Denver, about signing with the Clippers. What are Martin’s thoughts about doing so? ‘I’ll let him tell y’all that,’ Billups said with a smile. Asked about reports that the Clippers are one of a handful of teams that have contacted Martin, Coach Vinny Del Negro declined to go into specifics. ‘Kenyon is an experienced guy that knows how to play, can play some [power forward], play some [center],’ Del Negro said. ‘He brings a lot of athleticism …’ Del Negro neither confirmed nor denied that he has reached out to Martin.”

    Martin would be good for the Lakers, Thunder, Bulls, or the Heat. On the Clippers he is wasting his career, like Chris Paul accepting to be traded to Clippers has done for two years. Clippers are going no where. BOOK IT!!

    Chauncey wants Kenyon to show Blake how to take it to the next level, also give the kid a break while bringing in a player that won’t change what they are trying to do in Lob Angeles. I like it for the clips.

    His best fit is SA. The Spurs are desperately looking for a defensive minded big man and he’s the answer. Kenyon should know that if he ever goes to a team like LAC or NYK his role won’t be as vital as in a team like SA, ATL, or even Miami

    he’s going to the Mavericks, already watched some games there and the Mavs could use a bad man like him in the middle if mahinmi can’t handle the pressure Ansure. If he wants minutes playing on a good team he should go to Atlanta.

    Doing this can add depth to their front court which they don’t really have. I don’t know who they would start, whether they move de Andre Jordan to te bench or leave Martin on bench to add some punch of the bench. Either way it woul be a good move as their bench isn’t exactly good. Only one doin damage is mo williamsbwho is actually playin pretty good of bench.

    Getting Kenyon would be a decent move…if Vinnie Del Negro wasn’t the coach. I don’t see Vinnie being the kind of guy who can command respect a vet with attitude like K-Mart. And I certainly don’t see him being smart with how he uses him – Vinnie’s rotations are terrible. Until the Clips who get a real coach, they’re not going anywhere.

    Whoever thinks Blake Griffin can play the 3 is on some very good kush…Hes skilled for being a 4, but his jumpshot is not good and he wouldn’t have the footspeed to keep up with the premier 3′s of the league.All you have to do is picture Blake slashing through the lane off the dribble and defending a Luol Deng, Iguodala, Lebron-lol and youll see im right

    BG Can’t play SF. Martin would just sign for the rest of this season so I don’t think Del Negro would have too many problems. SA would be a nice fit too, but I think LAC or Mia is where he ends up.

    Haha griffin at small forward I don’t think so. Just pack the paint and let him, Kenyon and de shoot jumpers. Also every half decent forward would drop 30 plus considering his ridicuously poor D

    If they use Griffin to trade for Dwight he’d be a great starter alongside “Superman”! Although I think they should stay put with Griffin and Jordan. The Kings should go for him, he could put Cousins in check or just beat his @$$ ;) . Memphis would be a great fit as well even when Z-no returns!!!

    Its good to see many people want k-mart to go t there own team ut in the end it will be
    on him . And if he dose go to the clippers to play with billups he have a team that will work hard cause if not they would not have a record they have now. Plus I learn my lession on counting out the underdog cause you will never know how much fight they have in em .. plus u never know what can happen and if they give the thunder a fight and win or come close that should show that never underestimate the underdog

    well being that he can play the center spot.he would be good in Miami to give Joel and bosh some help.being that hes a free agent.Miami is doing pretty good right now. but playoff time is crunch time.king James needs and wants a Championship.with a little more help in the middle i think would be just what the king would order.
