Jason Terry Raffling Off His Championship Ring


Taking a page out of Ron Artest/Metta World Peace’s book, Dallas Mavericks guard Jason Terry is set to raffle off the title ring he’ll receive tonight. Per the Star-Telegram: “Jason Kidd is abuzz that teammate Jason Terry is raffling off an authentic ring to one lucky fan just like the one the Dallas Mavericks will receive in a ceremony Wednesday night. ‘I think that’s awesome,’ Kidd said after [Tuesday's] practice. ‘Whoever that lucky fan is … what do we have to do to win it?’ When told that all anyone has to do is pay $10 for a raffle ticket, Kidd sounded like he wanted to purchase a ticket or two. ‘That’s it?,’ Kidd asked. ‘OK. I’m in. But I think it’s a great gesture and that just shows what kind of character Jet is.’ Terry said all proceeds from the raffle will go to his foundation and will be used to help his youth girls’ basketball team – the Lady Jets – travel later this year to China. ‘Everybody can get in,’ Terry said. ‘Some lucky person is going to win it. I’ll let it run for a month and see what happens.’”

    He’s actually purchasing a second ring from Cuban and that’s the one that he will raffle off.

    Royal with the to-the-point insult. and I think LDR4 is right. it says he’s raffling off a ring, not his ring.

    Makes sense…just say 2000 people purchase a ticket for atleast 4 games during the month it’s being held. That’s atleast 80k for a ring that probably costs about 5k, if that. The Jet’s cashing in.

    The ring is estimated @ 1.5 million, Jet is giving all proceeds to charity. LBJ has already purchased 50,000 tix.
