Judge Took Control of Allen Iverson’s Bank Account to Repay Jeweler

According to TMZ (who else?), Allen Iverson’s bank account has been taken over by the law, as a Georgia jeweler won a lawsuit against The Answer: “Iverson was sued back in 2010 for allegedly stiffing Aydin & Company Jewelers on a $375,000 bill. The records show A.I. never responded to the lawsuit so a default judgement was issued in favor of the jewelry store allowing A&C to collect $859,896.46 for the bling, court costs, interest and attorneys fees. But A.I. still didn’t pay so earlier this month the judge signed off on an order which allows the store to recoup their loss directly from Iverson’s Wells Fargo bank account.”

Please… somebody, get him back in the NBA.

Honestly, why in the world does someone need to spend that much money on jewelry. I’ve never seen a player with that much talent fall so hard.

I hope A.I. is not on the verge of being bankrupt. I never feel bad for NBA players being bankrupt. They had millions of millions of dollars and just throw it all away. They should always save and invest when they finish playing basketball.

Expect AI fanboys to come out of the woodwork on this one. “Get him back in the league!”, they’ll say. Or even better is the “He should be on Miami or the Lakers, he’s an instant upgrade”. It’s time to face reality. His time in the NBA is done. He had an amazing career, brought back basketball here in Philly and for that I’ll always appreciate The Answer. But the stone cold reality is that he is no longer a sought after commodity. AI fanboys need to go through a detox course or something.

Didn’t pay, so he lost twice as much. Damn, AI.

This time… THE LAW has the ANSWER and AI got QED.

Speaking as a huge AI fan, I am so disappointed and saddened by how his career has come to an end. I used to believe he was being treated unfairly and that he was being black balled by the league, but this story is just another example of AI being a dumb ass and that he is obviously his own worst enemy… Still, he’ll always be one of my favorite players of all time, so fun to watch in his prime.

AI is the classic example of a man who is nothing without his sport. No skills, education, or smarts to fall back on he is destined to fail.

I just sold AI a packet of beans for $100,000. Guys, get it while you can!!

Have no sympathy for a man when he does it to himself.

  • Kobester Posted: Jan.31 at 12:25 pm
How do you get well over 100 millions in your career and still end up broke? Damn, use your head, AI.

  • Tshore Posted: Jan.31 at 1:50 pm
    It doesn’t say he’s broke…..

  • Kadavour Posted: Jan.31 at 2:27 pm

No matter what I got AI`s back. I have never seen someone who CANNOT catch a break from lawsuits, critics (even though he`s not playing), and utter hatred for his continued existence. The easiest thing to do would be to jump on the bandwagon and shoot him down one insult after another but I`m not a follower. And I don`t rejoice when other ppl struggle. I also don`t understand how being punished for ignoring a lawsuit (which he is probably sick and tired of dealing with all together) can lead to such chaotic reactions. settle ppl. Stop blowing things out of proportion.

  • dfrance21 Posted: Jan.31 at 4:47 pm
What do you mean “catch a break?” You take something and don’t pay for it, you get punished. You assault your baby moms you get punished. You quit on 3 pro teams, nobody else wants to deal with you. I always stuck up for AI, when he was playing and they calledh im a thug because he had braids and airbrushed his tats on the cover of magazines and stuff like that, even through the whole “practice” fiasco. But this other stuff was brought on by himself, there’s no break to catch.

I still don’t understand why men buy jewellery. ghey if u ask me.

  • Dyce Posted: Jan.31 at 5:33 pm
Stop saying for him to come back to the league its over for AI!

  • All Day Posted: Jan.31 at 5:39 pm
@Tshore: He will be in the near future. You will hear about Allen Iverson and Terrell Owens filing for bankruptcy within 5 years.

  • The Philosopher Posted: Jan.31 at 7:59 pm
He has a lifetime contract with Reebok for millions upon millions of U.S. dollars. If he goes broke, he may go down as the most… intellectually dishonest athlete of all times.
    Unless Reebok drops him…

  • dfrance21 Posted: Feb.1 at 12:14 pm
^I don’t think “Lifetime” sneaker contracts are acatually for a lifetime. I think once its a contract of 10 years or more they just call it a lifetime contract. DRose just signed a “lifetime” contract with adidas, buts its really $250 million over 10 years. Not saying AI shouldn’t still have some sneaker money, but I doubt Reebok is still paying him.

@Fat Lever Im one of AI’s biggest fans and you hit it right on the nail Iverson’s time is up.I dont defend no man but i hope everything ends well for him but he has to look in the mirror and question his choices

  • blackthought Posted: Mar.2 at 3:40 pm
@dfrance21, ai deal is for a lifetime, he`s gettin 5 mill $ until he`s 6 feet deep. but he needs to learn managin`his money.
