Kobe Bryant Impressed By Ricky Rubio
Kobe Bryant put a stop to the Lakers’ bleeding in Minnesota last night, but couldn’t help but be impressed by the play of rookie point guard Ricky Rubio. From the OC Register: “Rubio has been a revelation for the Timberwolves as their rookie point guard, with Lakers coach Mike Brown pointing out that the athletic NBA game with fewer zone defenses to expose Rubio’s shaky jumper is well-suited for him. Rubio had flashes Sunday night but shot 2 of 13 from the field, finishing with five points and eight assists. Kobe Bryant has been impressed by Rubio in the NBA. ‘He’s fantastic,’ Bryant said. ‘He has great court vision, great poise.’”

he’s THIRD in 3 pointers made of ALL TIME in the NBA.
before the season started people said he wouldnt even score one point.
Overall iam impressed by rubio season this far. Also his flair is so much more
marketable then an irving. And that doesnt have anything to do whit the color of his skin. Just his abilty to throw some bizarre passes.
Chances are Rubio is going to wind up with 12-5-10 at the end of the season at the very least… with over two steals a game. And damn solid defense. That’s pretty damn good for a 21-year-old rookie who everyone thought was overhyped and would bomb.
That being said, his shot definitely needs to get better. His spot-up shooting is streaky, and he draws contact just fine but he gets blocked way too much… He’s gotta work on separating himself from his defender a bit better. It really is his one weakness. As someone else mentioned, it’s kinda crazy how amazing his passing and court vision is, how solid his rebounding and defense is, and how abysmal his scoring is.
maybe oj mayo
in his last ten games, he’s averaging 12-5-9.6-3… that’s because his average playing time has gone up by ten minutes, which he’ll probably play for the rest of the season.
I think he’s going to do just fine.
And the Rubio/Ridnour position is really, really, really stupid.
@jukai i said i was wrong about his production i was just sayin i was close to quoting my own prediction, and the only reasons these articles keep coming up is because the wolves media makes it a point to ask players what they think about him.
Love had 29 and Beasley looked awesome 34 points. If Beasley can play consistent basketball this team could be dangerous down the stretch!
Rubio’s from Spain, man. Frickin’ Spain.
