Chris Kaman to Rejoin Hornets

The Hornets are still listening to offers for Chris Kaman, but the team has decided that Kaman being with the team is better move. From the Times-Picayune: “The Hornets are taking center Chris Kaman off the trade market for now and will permit him to return to the team, league sources confirmed Friday afternoon. Kaman will not be with the team for tonight’s game at Detroit, but he likely will rejoin the team before Monday night’s game against the Sacramento Kings. The Hornets apparently were unable to obtain what they desired in a trade for Kaman, though several teams expressed interest, including the Houston Rockets, Cleveland Cavaliers, Indiana Pacers and Golden State Warriors. New Orleans wanted any deal for Kaman to include emerging young talent, draft picks or expiring contracts, sources said.”

    Super awkward for him/his teammates…

  • J.C.

    >Vetoes the CP3-to-Lakers trade which would have netted them decent talent because he wants the Hornets to keep CP3.
    >Trades Chris to the Clippers instead, the biggest pieces coming back being Eric Gordon and to a lesser degree Chris Kaman.
    >Lowballs EG on his contract extension making him even more likely to leave.
    >Stops playing Kaman and publicly puts him on the trading block.
    >Nobody wants Kaman, returns him to bench role with even lower morale.
    >Essentially lost CP3 for nothing because neither EG or Kaman want to play there anymore.
    >Hornets are the worst team in the West.
Can Stern stop playing GM now?

^Indeed. I’m not sure the Chris Paul situation could have turned out any worse for New Orleans. The Lakers trade would have gotten them THREE proven players in Odom, Scola, and Martin, yet as it stands their main prize is ready to skip town for Indiana over the summer, and they’re about to send away their second-best player.

Definitely agree with you J.C. Kaman was pointless to get and Gordan has been injured for a while now. What other relevant player did the Hornets get in return?

Angling the league for contraction… See ya later Hornets/Kings/Raps/Bobcats

  • Bt

^^^ Contraction would be hornets and kings max. MJ ain’t losing the cats and losing Toronto wouldn’t look good when the league wants a bigger international presence

Raps pull in an audience tho. Pacers and Bucks do not… Pistons REALLY don’t but they have history.

  • Jose

Hornets,Wizards, Kings, Bobcats are probably considerations If i had to believe any contraction would occur. . .

how about maybe other teams want to see Kaman play before they decide to trade for him

Hornets, Kings, Pistons, Bucks, if we have to pick four. However, I could see just the Kings and Hornets dissolving and the Bucks being transferred to the Western Conference.
