Kobe Bryant Denies Rift With Dwight Howard


There were rumors circulating around the web last week about Dwight Howard allegedly being upset following a conversation with Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant, leading some to believe the big man was no longer interested in playing in L.A. Bryant says none of that is true. (Please adjust your lives accordingly.) From Peter Vecsey of the NY Post, who published a hilarious email exchange between himself and Kobe: “Please separate truth from fiction for me re: Howard stuff,’ I emailed Kobe several days ago. ‘As far as what? I have no clue what’s even being said. I have a lot to deal with as it is,’ he replied. That was extremely revealing in itself. In other words, L.A.’s media, especially the Lakers’ beat writers, felt the story lacked such credibility, nobody even bothered to ask Kobe about it. I pressed on, nonetheless. I sent Kobe the story and asked him to confirm, deny or both depending on the paragraph. ‘omg! I’m not getting mixed up in this kiddy drama spit, bro. too old for that spit,’ Bryant responded via email. ‘How do you think I feel at my age having to chase down this stuff,’ I answered. ‘I understand your position. But if it’s untrue, any of it, and allowed to circulate throughout the league, which already is happening, I would think you’d want to say it’s not.’ ‘It’s not true,’ Kobe responded.”

    I’m not buying it…. Kobe’s too smart to do anything that would jeopardize his 6th ring. He realizes he’s on borrowed time and has learned that “being the GM” didnt work too well in 2007.

    Spit bro! No, but really, I highly doubt Kobe was ever stupid enough to try and “sell” the idea to Howard that he’d be the 3rd option once he got to LA. That’s laughable.

    Put it to rest, Howard isnt coming to LA. Bynum, Gasol and Kobe are all staying. We r going after a PG. Not a Center right now. We r going after JR SMITH, Sessions, Gilbert Arenas and Johnny Flynn. We aren’t making the big deal that everyone wants. We are on pace for two top 20 picks next yr. Lakers are going in a different direction.
