Kobe Bryant: LeBron James Would Be the Ideal Teammate


While everyone else is busy arguing for their side of the Kobe/LeBron war, Bryant flips the script by saying that if he could choose any player in the NBA to team up with, it would be James. From ESPN Radio: “When pressed and asked if he would rather play with Orlando’s Dwight Howard or New Jersey’s Deron Williams, two players who have been linked to dozens of trade rumors this season, Bryant played along. ‘Give me both, how about that?’ Bryant said with a laugh. He also offered an answer that would be surprising to some when he was told he could pick any player in the league to join him to create the sport’s top duo. ‘It’s a tough question because I’ve played with a lot of great players being on the Olympic team,’ Bryant said. ‘I think that the player I would probably play with the most where the pieces would fit would be myself and LeBron [James], believe it or not, because he’s more of a facilitator and I’m more of a scorer. … He’s a modern version of what Oscar [Robertson] was. He just puts up genius numbers.’”

    WTF…. I see the people on this board talk mad reckless.. The Kobe groupies are in full effect. No way Kobe is more athletic than Lebron or would Lebron play number #2 like pippen. Lebron has enough talent to be the best player EVER…. He can score 30 or 40 a night if he wanted and rack up a double double or Trimble double if he was as greedy as the Black Mamba…. The only thing Kobe has over Lebron is killer instinct. Once Lebron figures that out,… Goodbye NBA

    kobe and lebron would be ideal. Kobe has 3 years left and lebron has about 13 more years.
    It would be a great transition for Lebron to take center stage as Kobe does.

    A Kobe/Lebron/Bynum/Rondo/Metta/and any power foward would win until Kobe was 37 year old or until he quits/playing together will prolong both of their careers..That would rock the NBA for life….Kobe take a pay cut and it would work.

    I’m definitely a Lebron James fan, but I DO like K obe, but if Lebron was teamates with ShaQ when he was in his prime AND had the rest of Kobe’s teammates when they had that lakers dynasty…Lebron would have multiple rings! Bottom line, they’re BOTH great players!!

    Every person is an individual, and No, Mitch Kupchek would never trade Kobe for anything. Each player has their strengths. Kobe gave a super, unexpected answer to a question that only matters to haters. These players recognize talent in each other. Why can’t we?

    All this bs being said that kobe and lebron would do good together is the same crap they said last year about wade, bosh, and lebron. Now all of sudden everyone wants to see kobe and lebron. Lebron sucks and thats that , he needs someone to win him a ring, he can’t do it without another star.

    Stop comparing the two. They’re both amazing at different things. LeBron is a certified stat stuffer. He’s great for your fantasy team and as a general presence on the court throughout the game. Kobe is the most lethal scorer in the game and is a bonafide clutch finisher. Both are great to have, but at the end of the day it’s winners who count…

    Kobe is better than lebron and he has proved it but lebron is starting and has proved for years he is crazy good but if the played together, oooo boy all of everyone in the basketball world would have something coming

    People hate LeBron because of the DECISION, right? Before that, everybody loves him. But the fact is that LeBron is more versatile than Kobe. Kobe just scores. LeBron does it all. See the stats. The hate people have for LeBron should not affect the view that he is the best. Some of us are just being bias and riding Dan Gilbert’s bandwagon.
