Reports: Derrick Rose Wants Pau Gasol in Chicago

The latest Pau Gasol trade rumor — there have been a lot lately, to the chagrin of Gasol and his teammates — involves Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls. From Marca and Sheridan Hoops: “Derrick Rose has let it be known to Bulls management that we wants to play with Pau Gasol if Chicago is able to swing a trade with the Los Angeles Lakers for the veteran power forward from Spain, a source said. The Spanish news outlet Marca was the first to report Sunday that Rose has given his blessing for the Bulls to go after Gasol with a package that would be centered around Carlos Boozer and another player. ‘He hasn’t said so publicly, but he has made that known privately,’ said the source. [...] Carlos Boozer has three years and $46 million remaining on his contract, while Gasol is due to make $38 million over the next two seasons. The Lakers have an $8.9 million trade exception from the Lamar Odom trade that they could use to acquire a player making up to that amount without surrendering much (it could be as little as a conditional second-round pick) in return, which gives general manager Mitch Kupchak enormous flexibility in trying to improve a Lakers team that has struggled offensively all season. If the Bulls were willing to surrender backup point guard C.J. Watson in a Boozer-Gasol deal, it would address the Lakers’ need for a young, steady point guard to buttress their current rotation of Derek Fisher and Steve Blake.”

3 team deal with Milwaukee. Lakers get Deng and Jennings. Bulls get Pau and Stephen Jackson. Bucks get Boozer and maybe Ebanks and some picks. Seems to make sense for all of the teams.

    Except Milwaukee

And Bulls, we trade an allstar in Deng for a decent Gasol & aging Jackson and Lakers get Deng and Jenning wtf lol that’s an impossible trade.

This story has to be fabricated. Rose has had multiple opportunities to go to management and request they “go get” a player. If he didn’t do it for Lebron, Wade, or Howard, I don’t see why he’d go out on a limb for Gasol. Also, the media is constantly trying to get Rose to say he’d want to play with Player X and time after time, he’s backed his current teammates. He backed Keith Bogans, he backed Noah, and he backed Boozer when they were all part of trade rumors before. He’s constantly saying he’s good with his team as currently constructed. I don’t see why he’d do a complete 180 now.

co-sign Diesel, all I’ve heard from D-Rose anytime a trade rumor would come up regarding the bulls is exactly that. I really don’t see what Pau’s got over Lebron and Dwight for Rose to all of a sudden call for management to get him.

Pau is a role player more so than a superstar & won’t mess up Rose being the star & most talked about player on the Bulls. Don’t think he wants anyone else being a superstar on his team. But I don’t think he minds stars joining.

I think Pau is looking like a role player because that’s more or less how they’re using him. I don’t think he’s being used correctly at all and that’s on Brown (although I don’t think he’s as bad of a coach as you all seem to think) and by association, Buss. I don’t get why that guy wants to go away from the Phil Jackson era. Jerry Krause had the same mentality for the Bulls. Why would you want to go away from something that brought championships? Brian Shaw was the clear choice to coach this team but that’s over with now.

I believe this is all ACTED OUT! Bryant knows Gasol is this teams chemistry major! The Magic aren’t going to get any better than Bynum period.! Come March we will all get to see Bryant-Gasol and Howard go at it as a team! Then play for The NBA Championship against the Heat in June! I see a sweet game 7! W The Lakers Winning It All!! Oh yeah!!
