No D-League for Lamar Odom

The Mavericks planned to send Lamar Odom to the D-League for at least one game, but the Mavs have lost five of six games and patience is wearing thin. Instead, Odom will be worked slowly into the mix for tonight’s game against the Jazz. Per ESPN: “Forward Lamar Odom will skip what was Saturday’s scheduled return to the court in the D-League, and instead report directly to the Dallas Mavericks as they seek to snap a four-game skid, according to sources close to the situation. The Mavericks, who have lost five of six, face the Utah Jazz Saturday night in Dallas. Odom, his agent, Jeff Schwartz, and Mavs owner Mark Cuban had met earlier this week in Dallas and worked out a plan to ease Odom back onto the team after his personal absence unexpectedly extended more than a week. He was just hours away from reporting to the D-League’s Texas Legends in nearby Frisco for the morning shootaround and was to play in their game Saturday night to build up stamina before returning to the Mavs for their road game Monday at Oklahoma City. Odom has not played in a game since Feb. 20.”

I wanna root for Khlomar to get it together, but enough already. Dallas has gone above and beyond to help make him comfortable and thus far he hasn’t reciprocated the effort…

Hardcore laker fan. Huge lamar fan. And was deeply sympathetic when this whole thing started, but now I just think he has taken this whole abandoned puppy act too far. Man up and play ball ffs. I know hr has had personal problems and that is more than fair but before and since he has been acting like a real bittcch.

Lamar needs to get over it.

Why does he deserve any money this year? Oh, right, for the same reason his wife earns her millions. Seriously, I appreciate the gravity of his problems, but plenty of athletes have played through MUCH worse instead of just wallowing in undeserved self-pity.

This may be a bad news for Mr. Odom

It’s not like 1 game in the d-league was gonna “build up his stamina” anyways…

Laker 4 life…L.O should’ve never demanded a trade to begin with. I’m sure he wanted some “get back” agaisnt the team he’s currently playing with but it is what it is. L.O needs to ball out for the remainder of this year. The Mavericks organization should’ve released him instead of embarrasing him with the D League threat. The reigning 6th man of the year, coming of his best season of his career feels like after re-signing with the Lakers for less, the last thing he expected was to be involved in a trade. That being said, he needs to understand that the move wasn’t personal. Lakers GM was trying to improve the roster for the future. Thanks to David Stern, it never happened (How’s New Orleans looking now?)L.O…O Dawg I like to call him should finish strong and look forward to playing for another team next season. He should’ve finished his career in L.A for the record.

I’m telling you, give LO two FUN DIP’s before the game, and you’ll get “the goods.” ;)

Didn’t Lamar Odom lose his mother at an early age? And 4-5 years ago traggicly lost one of his children? Thanks to the reality show, we have some insight to what’s going on with his pops. So its’ safe to say dudes been through a lot…he felt like the Lakers was his family, he’s won championships with them and finally felt like he’s found his niche in the league…Could’ve been a starter on most teams, reluctant in the beggining but finally accepted the role of 6th man on a loaded Laker team. Due to salary reasons and Lamar’s demand, he was traded to free up cash and what looking like a late lottery pick…The Mavs winning last year was a combination of veteran players, solid defenders and an above average coach…Since then, they’ve lost key contributers to other teams and inherited a player who really doesn’t like them. He might even hate them. That being said, you’re paid to do a job…do it! Odom has 5 or more years left in his career. Its’ time he lets everyone knows that he’s still has lots of good basketball left in his tank. So we can stop focusing on non basketball issues.
