Photos: Rajon Rondo Plays HORSE With a Fan

One lucky contest winner goes up against the red-hot Celtics guard.

Yesterday, Rajon Rondo carved up the Knicks with an unreal 18-point, 17-rebound and 20-assist statistical performance, but the night before, the Celtics point guard defeated an opponent with (almost) equally impressive stats: H-O-R-S-E. Through a Red Bull promotion, 25-year-old David Edwards, a Rochester, NY native and NAVY employee, won the opportunity to play HORSE with Rondo, and the two faced off at the Celtics practice facility this past Saturday. Double-R won both games of HORSE, though it seems safe to assume Edwards had himself a hell of a time regardless. Check out a few photos of the two together during their showdown above.

I’m liking Rondo now that Celtics aren’t a threat to my Bulls.

People seem to forget that Rondo went toe-to-toe with Durant in the HORSE contest at ASW a few years back, including trading 3s from the top of the key with the game on the line. Rondo’s problem isn’t that he can’t shoot, it’s more that he’s indecisive about shooting, he’s thinking so much about getting others involved and reading the D that he doesn’t shoot decisively, unless it’s at the end of the shot-clock, where I’ve seen him make a number of jumpers in tight games.

@omphalos, ‘his problem isnt that he cant shoot’ errrm yes, it is. lol there is a huge difference between wide open J’s in a game of horse and GAME SPEED shots. If your mechanics arn’t right then when it comes to making game speed shot you are done, that being said i think he will really improve on his shooting i think he should aim to have a Jkidd kind of career pattern.

YO this guy looks exactly like rondo. Just a shorter fatter version.

It’s a known FACT that the scorekeepers in boston pad rondo’s stats, big-time… so there’s no believing any hype about him. This is confirmed by the fact that he didn’t even make this year’s All-Star team (only made it as an injury replacement)! Apparently, NBA coaches don’t think too highly of his skills either.

    @ SonnyB…. wikipedia doesn’t make it a fact
