Stephen Jackson Discusses Playing for the Bulls

Rip’s out for a minute, Stephen Jackson is wasting on bench. And Jax was openly talking to longtime SLAM contributor Aggrey Sam yesterday about playing for the Bulls. And… the trade deadline is next week. Oh boy. “That doesn’t mean players on other teams, particularly title-starved veterans, don’t covet an opportunity to play for the Bulls. Take Bucks swingman Stephen Jackson, a name bandied around in the past as a potential Bulls target. [...] ‘Who wouldn’t want to play with Derrick Rose? Right up the street; it would be a great fit for me. I don’t think anybody in the league would say they wouldn’t want to do that, but me, at the end of the day, I just want to play. I’ve been a competitor my whole career, I’ve won everywhere I’ve went, so at this point, I just want to get back on the court and do what I do best, wherever that is,’ Jackson told CSNChicago.com Wednesday morning. ‘I’m just here, working out every day, just waiting for my opportunity, so I can be ready, but that’s always my goal, to win a championship and I know being on a team like that, it wouldn’t be that hard.’”

If Jax could excel at the 2spot then this would be a good move for the Bulls because Thibs works deng like a government mule at that 3 spot.

  • tomtom

Overrated. He would bring nothing to the Bulls other than making the offensive flow all sticky..

This would be cool, jackson is clutch. I wouldn’t want to give up too much though. the bucks may not be too generous, they should return the favor though because the bulls gave them salmons a couple years ago for nothing and he helped them get to the playoffs.

Someone, anyone, please let the man play!

    Free SJax!

Jackson is owed like $10mil a year for the next two years. Bulls wouldn’t want to trade the pieces to match up those salaries, or deal with that payroll . Now if Jackson gets bought out….that could be interesting.

stephen jackson would actually be the answer for the bulls. He plays, or can play tough defense, provide relief for rose as a spot up guy, and can create his own shot.

I thought he wished he was a rapper!!!

Man, Jax is getting way too much attention lately on Slam for a guy who isn’t even playing.

  • MikeC.

Jackon wishes he was a bull. I wish I was a dumptruck. Can’t win ‘em all.

A 2nd round pick, sure but we dont need to move anyone we have a great team and 1 guy who is unhappy shouldn’t ruin that.

  • matt

    SJAX for Orton + Redick

i just want to point out that stephen jackson has a championship ring with the 2003 spurs.

  • SikhWitIt

This guy is a throwback and I absolutely love watching him play. The Bulls need another reliable scorer who can assist D-Rose in the dog fight they’re sure to face against Miami in the conference finals. Right now they are unprepared for that battle. They need a Stephen Jackson, a Jama Crawford, or a Gerald Wallace caliber scorer. Make this happen!

  • YeP

That would be sweet. Having horns. Running over people. What a life.

  • John

F*** him, he is GARBAGE anyways. His @$$ is on the bench because he is “broke shot having” CRYBABY. Teams have to realize, along with him comes a HUGE payroll, a broke @$$ shot, and full force Drama Queen. Please us in Milwaukee a favor and just LEAVE!!

  • http://slamonline BossTerry

    @ YeP- I like that. :D

  • tomtom

    @YeP..awesome. haha

Diesel is kind of right. Unless you want to give away Rip Hamilton (which I’m not sure Milwaukee will want, given his injuries) the best deal I could find was Korver and Miles… or Korver and Watson, Butler, and Lucas. Chicago doesn’t have a lot of trading pieces.

  • Fresco a Muerte

wouldn’t be that hard to win a chip?? I think that about sums him up right there

  • http://Slamonline.com Caboose

Unless Bulls do a Boozer for Jackson/Gooden swap, it’s not gonna happen.

  • LA Huey

I’m glad this trade is very unlikely and tough to pull off. At this point, I dislike SJax and don’t want him playing on a successful team.

  • John

He is a BUM! Thats why he is riding the bench! His shot is like his rapping career….GARBAGE. Trust me, we will not miss you if you leave Milwaukee. You have been nothing but a crybaby B***H since you got here! Quit crying to the media and prove yourself!

  • MikeC.

Damn it SLAM, why did you have to change the headline? My comment was much more amusing to me when the headline was “Stephen Jackson wants to be a Bull”. I rarely discuss wanting to be a dumptruck. I just want it. It’s better that way.

  • http://www.boogiewilliams.com Boing Dynasty

Chicago does have better condos to rap in.

  • http://SLAM FLIGHT 9

trade him for a lil cash…

  • NbaNW8

If the Bulls can get Capt. Jack our offensive scoring from the second guard spot will be solved.

  • tony_scorpio

HE has not won everywhere he’s gone… that 03 title, riding the bench, giving bruce bowen a breather & you wear a jersey that says champion, doesn’t make a winner. I’d rather have crash or crawdaddy back.

  • http://Slamonline.com nbk

Jukai, Milwaukee will give Jackson away. They just don’t want to take money back. Which means no Korver.

  • http://Slamonline.com nbk

Tony, he started on that Spurs team. And played 30 minutes a game. Maybe know what your talking about.
