Iman Shumpert Out Six-to-Eight Months With Torn ACL


Rough day for knee injuries: First the Bulls lose Derrick Rose for the remainder of the Playoffs with a torn ACL, and now the Knicks have released a statement confirming that rookie Iman Shumpert will miss the remainder of the postseason with that same injury. According to the Knicks, Shump will be out six-to-eight months after an upcoming surgery.

    standard recovery time for an ACL tear is 7-9 months. most doctors agree that the minimum recovery period is 6 months. in short, there will be no speedy recovery which does not in turn jeopardize his health – possibly resulting in a second consecutive ACL tear. rose and the city of chicago will have to be patient.

    @Robb: I am pretty sure that more players have torn ACL’s in Nikes. Also pretty sure that knee injuries aren’t directly connected to shoe brand.

    acl being torn is the result of one’s ankle being to resticted causing your knee to make up for it which tears the acl has nothing to do with brands

    I think LA HUEY was pointing out how Shump’s injury IS getting little to no attention overall compared to roses, because Iman isn’t nearly as important to the knicks.

    this makes me so sad… this series aside, Iman is one of the most talented young players in the game. I’d already put him as a top 10 wing defender and this is just horrible. Wade is probably the happiest guy in the world right now

    I saw the game yesterday and reminded me of Ricky. I was hoping it wasn’t this bad. Hope he heals well and comes back stronger, he was having a nice season.

    Shump’s is less than a 1/5 of that.
    Shump is on the good side of one of the most rabid and loyal fanbases in the NBA.

    Get better soon Shump. However, all the formentioned players are under #TEAMADIDAS.. Rose, Shump, Chauncey, Dwight.. 4-4 on team adidas, and ZERO injuries under team NIKE. Most of TEAM NIKE has recovered except J.LIN

    I see a lot of people giving list of players that wear adidas that have had injuries. I’ll u my list of Nike players: Brandon Roy, Greg Oden and Ricky Rubio. GIVE ME A F&*king Break.
