Dwyane Wade Unhappy With Indiana’s ‘Little Celebration’ After Game 2

by Marcel Mutoni @marcel_mutoni

The old NBA Playoffs cliché is that it’s not a series until the home team loses a game.

And if that’s true at all, then the Indiana Pacers/Miami Heat battle is now a series in every sense of the word, and on top of that, there’s a bit of bad blood between the two squads.

The Pacers escaped Miami with a split, evening things up with a gutty win last night. Dwyane Wade did not enjoy watching them celebrate on his court.

From Fox Sports:

“I heard they wanted to be like the Dallas Mavericks, in a sense,” Wade said. “I saw their little celebration at the end of (Game 2). I don’t know if they didn’t expect to win, but every night we go out on the court, we expect to win.” [...] “They say their identity, they say they want to be like Dallas,” Wade said. “So they celebrated like Dallas, I guess.”

Told what Wade said, Pacers guard Paul George said he didn’t see anything wrong with what his team did after the game. “If that’s what he wants to fuel this loss, they should come out just the fact that we came here and took a win from them,” George said. “But we won this like we weren’t surprised. We won it, and went right to the locker room.” [...] “I think it’s an excuse,” George said. “We won this game fair and square. We walked off and went to the locker room and now we’re ready to get out of here. … It’s the same way when they won (Game 1). They celebrated, so we just did the same thing.”

Veteran forward David West must have sensed something when he did his best to get his young teammates off the floor following the win, and quickly into their locker room.

Putting aside the delicious irony of a Miami Heat player getting upset about anyone else prematurely celebrating, Dwyane Wade and company have their hands full against the hungry and dangerous Pacers, and they shouldn’t need any additional motivation.

What is with this weak talk of players not being able to celebrate, man let some folks be happy… Y0U LOST CHUMP!

  • RunNGun

Dwayne Wade accused the Indiana Pacers of excessive celebration. Of course, the Heat would NEVER celebrate before they won anything, right… right? “Not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4… ” :)

I normally like Wade… but who knew he could be this p!ssy? The Pacers have a real shot at winning this series. And I think whoever wins here will make it to the Finals.

Were is da manual “How to celebrate(not to celebrate)if your team just won Heat or Bulls” by DWade&DRose

  • Y you spell it fiyah mudbutt

When DWade came into the league he was a young father, married to his high school sweetheart, playing like his life depended on it (which it did). He was a classy guy. I’m sure he’s still a basically good guy but I only want to emulate his game now, not his team.

  • tavoris

    The Heat are in trouble.

Personally I would be a little heated myself. I wouldn’t make it a public issue but in the back of my mind I’d be steaming and anxious to go to their place and beat the sh*t out of them. So I see where he’s coming from but just keep it to yourself.

Man, I think this is first unanimous sentiment I’ve seen on these threads. Its official, Wade is officially a b*tch.

  • James

Poor Dwayne Wade. He has become one of the biggest cry babies in the NBA He blows a simple layup, acts like a two year old and then runs into the back of a Pacers player on purpose. Granted he got slapped with a flagrant foul, but that’s not the point.

  • http://AOL max johnson

DWade has changed since Lebron arrived, not for the best! LeBron the SELF PROCLAIMED KING,is the best alright, best at FLOPPING,and this has rubbed off on Miami players.LeBron even in high school could not finish the games he played.Lebron is a choked fourth quarter flopper! He won MVP?The NBAgone to pot,not like it use to be,or should be,David Stern needs to get back to enforcing playing without the drama, acting, flopping, and putting the refs through a training program. They do not ref, they have blind eyes, and this has to stop.My advice to DWADE,get rid of the flopper! You won without this guy.and believe me you can do it again.

  • IggI

Dang i didn’t know D. Wade had that many hater up in here. All the haters can go eat a Big fat black Deeck.

  • James

Dwade is one of the giggest cry baby in the NBA. He’s acting like a 2 year old. It’s OK for the Heat to celebrate before, during and after a game, but no other team can. He’s a choker like his much bigger choker LaBum. Even Chalmers complained that he missed his last shot because he got hit. Must have been a ghost that did it. What a bunch of little jerks.

  • dgatorr

poor dwade…….got his feeble ego hurt ! he dont remember how they celebrated after beating Dallas in 06 or how him and no 4th quarter bron bron, ridiculed, Dirk and the Mavs last year only to lose it all in the end. dwades attitude is so punk hes rediculous ! i hope he never wins a championship again !

  • http://nyill.wordpress.com/ O

It’s funny to me how everyone calls Knicks fans – such as myself – the worst or delusional or whatever kinds of fans, but man, Heat fans swear that they walk on water. My homie – true Heat fanatic since the Alonzo/Hardaway days – was screaming that Wade didn’t flagrant foul Collison! He said it was a simple personal. Then he was screaming Wade was fouled on his last shot attempt. Seriously?! I had mad respect for Wade, but son is crazy petty when he doesn’t get his way. Remember how son elbowed life outta Rip Hamilton and then last night leveling Collison. Dude really is a spoiled diva when he isn’t appeased by the refs.

  • RetailSportsGuy

It must be a Chicago native thing…

  • MAS

    FLOP!

  • AllTate

bull22, you’re wrong—the Pacers didn’t celebrate like the series was over. The fist pumped for like 5 seconds a wnet to the locker room.

  • JMM

This is the first time I’ve seen everyone here in agreement. Can’t believe it’s over Dwyane being a douche – he used to be such a likeable dude.

  • hatersrfunny

Ha wow check the hate children. Some of the scum on this site is sad. Didn’t realize so many losers with nothing better then hating the heat wade or bron bosh. No1 cares if heat win or lose bcuz the hate for these guys defines the truly pathetic attempts to make kids feel better about their miserable lives. No punk kid on here would say any of this to their face so man up and realize you will always be nothing compared to these guys.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

Didn’t Rose make the same complaint? Is it a Chicago thing?

  • http://juan.garcia@computershare.com PutUrMomma2Wrk

It’s a camouflage. “Here, I’m a douche!” in one hand… and behind his back, the other hand you don’t see “we’re a bunch of chokers!”.

  • http://juan.garcia@computershare.com PutUrMomma2Wrk

    That’s what team players do.

  • Riggs

@hatersrfunny: just like you will never say anything in your comment to anybody on this site face to face. How about posting something more constructive.

  • http://SLAMONLINE.COM Gab

I love how D-Wade speaks his mind.

  • http://nyill.wordpress.com/ O

I wouldn’t be surprised if Gab was actually Gabrielle Union….

  • DUDE3000

Wow really? what a hypocrite. I didn’t appreciate your “little celebration” when u got ur lil butt buddies bron and bosh down there and started dancin on that stage like a buncha idiots for your introduction. Clean your own closet b4 you tell others to do the same

  • nofkksgiven

@hatersrfunny – ur delusional and ur name is wack

  • http://slamonline.com Datkid

couple things. 1st of all F*CK the pacers. boring @ss team. 2nd about 90% of you need to shut up. players say stuff like this all the time, doesn’t necessarily mean they’re terrible people, and if your whining about them celebrating after beating boston( a team that had basically dominated wade and lebron for about 3 years) or about them celebrating after they joined up your an idiot. and 3rd. Wade has to stop being a douche at some point. he has to. he used to be a really good guy.

  • http://slamonline.com Datkid

also wade will be out for blood next time. He might go for 30 or so. but he really really has to stop being such a n @sshole.

  • thor

@Datkid So you say that we can’t judge him for saying what he did, but you still think he’s an asswhole and a douche? ain’t that sort of the same?

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVM11tMaMWg LakeShow

Thor, you think your so high and mighty. Your not a God man!
Oh wait, is this the real Thor? My B.

  • http://slamonline.com Datkid

I think he’s an @sshole bc of that foul on darren collision and his overall behavior this year(complaining to the refs, flagrantly fouling a bunch of people) if you think wade’s an @sshole JUST bc of this comment tho, your a fool.

  • http://minusthebars.blogspot.com Don

Wade should direct his anguish towards his teammates and not the opposition. Of course Indiana celebrated the win. Duh. No different than Miami celebrating alley-oop dunks and what not. I mean, does it also mean Wade isn’t expecting to actually make the allep-oop play? Lol.

    Don’t be ridiculous, Wade.

  • Shecky Shabazz

@dat kid I’m guessing you hated the Spurs from 1999-present too, right?

  • http://facebook rob

yes… the pacers may have celebrated a little, but ive seen lebron and dwade celebrate more after one of their amaqzing FLOPS!!!!

  • http://slam ROB

yes…the pacers may have celebrated a little…(what team doesnt after a hard fought win, but they didnt celebrate as much as lebron and dwade celebrate after one of their BIG FLOPS!!!!!

  • Atsushi

I remember Wade and Bron celebrating before the end of Game 2 in the Finals last year.
I dont know if they did expect to give away a game after leading by 15 ?!

  • Brenda h

Oh my, Dywane, did you block from your memory your ‘celebration’ with LeBron in front of the Mavs BENCH in the Finals last year after you sunk that 3 that put you ahead by like 17 points ?? (You remember, Dywane…the game the Mavs came back and WON after you motivated them with that ‘celebration’??) Karma’s a ______. Yes, she is.

  • http://www.facebook.com/joe.l.brewer3 BlackPhantom

Apparently, playing with LeBron has turned Wade into one of the biggest douche-bags in the NBA

  • roybot

    D. Wade just gotta let his game do the talking

  • lakernation

He’s sour and after what he did to collison last night, he gets no love from me…. It’s really not too much of a difference to what Anderson did to Blake griffin during the hornets vs clippers game. Only Anderson got suspended, wade didn’t even get ejected so f’d up!

  • tavoris

roybot – true. unfortunately for him game, George Hill locked his ass down last night in the 4th.

  • Ron Tuitt

Awwwwwww, is Dwayne “Please trade me with LaBron and Bosh so I Can Win a Championship the Easy Way” Wade upset? Tough! I mean between Queen James and Princess Dwayne who the heck is worse? Now we must celebrate a win as they see fit. Next they will tell us how to sleep, cheer and pee. I hope the Heat gets buried.

  • http://slamonline.com Datkid

your guess would be correct shecky. personally tho the real reason I hate the spurs is bc they bore me to death.

  • Top$helf

All y’all mf’s talkin tht cash money sh!t online bet none of y’all can fu€k wit DWade on tha court or wit tha hands

  • http://youtube.com charliewinning

    ^^^Step away from the keyboard.

  • BostonBaller

The HEAT are still the favorites..I just want to know if any announcer will ever have the gust to call out LBJ? Did you see the elbow he throws after he thought he was fouled too hard. After the replay you could see that it was just a normal hard foul and nothing vicious yet he took it upon himself to throw a bow.

  • MUBWAR

but remember Rose complained about them over celebrating too. It’s like when the knicks won game 4 against the heat and they celebrated like a championship game(1st playoff win in 13 years). stop the over celebrations people, simple as that

  • Sika.

Pacers didn’t expect to win that game just because LBJ missed those free trows they won they were to happy just because they won 1 single game I don’t think they can win another one,if chandler can stay on the game is going to be very hard for the pacers to win.
