Knicks Set Record for Playoff Losses, on the Brink of Getting Swept

The New York Knicks became the first team in NBA history to lose 13 consecutive postseason games last night, and with one more defeat, they can finally be put out of their misery this season. From the AP: “The New York Knicks set an NBA record Thursday night with their 13th straight playoff loss when they dropped Game 3 of their first-round series, 87-70 to the Miami Heat. The Knicks had tied the 12 straight losses set by the Memphis Grizzlies from 2004-06. Their losing streak covers 11 years. New York hasn’t won a postseason game since beating Toronto on April 29, 2001, in Game 3 of a best-of-five series. The Knicks were then swept in four straight by New Jersey when they returned to the playoffs in 2004.”

wow – can’t win one game even with melo and amare on the same team. i blame the pathetic fans.

I definitely thought the Knicks would win at least one game in this series… I think now the chances of that happening is like looking at a 90 year old woman’s body; it’s not looking good AT ALL!

    A consistent state of mind.

It’d be funny if the Knicks were on the road so I could hear an arena chanting “14 straight” as the Knicks go down. Who I am kidding, Miami fans chanting something clever in unison, nevermind…

    I’m so dissapointed

    The Knicks are back!

i called this one, carmelo anthony has a low basketball iq and apparently so does stoudemire therefore the flamout. if tyson does not sign this year or jeremy lin had not brokeout as a playmaker this would be a lottery team. and correct me if iam wrong but i think this is woodson’s 7th straight playoff loss with his teams getting skunked by 10 or more points. maybe with good health next season this team could work on being a 4 seed at the least.

The Knicks are a joke and even the most delusional new york fans have to accept that.

I can’t believe a team this bad has gotten so much press this year.

Stoudemire & Melo in the playoffs: 0-8 (cuz its coming). If Amar””’e isn’t shipped out this summer I give up hope for the free world.

I was so very wrong about the Knicks. Should have followed my first mind.

Heals, don’t put it past the MSG crowd to jeer their own team.

    ^^^How could I forget that Bronx love…

What a disappointment. Thought NYK would make this series interesting…

It has been a trying season for sure. Linsanity vanished, Amare self destructs, and Melo remains a petulant child. A rich, spoiled, self centered child. Shoot, Melo Shoot! Keep shooting Melo, somethings bound to go in. Don’t pass Melo! Shoooooooot! 6 for 31? Fine! Just keep shooting.

What a miserable group. There must be something to be learned about life here, and it has to do with true cooperation and/or the lack of it.

  • tom

They paid 100 million to Amare.Knicks are bad decision makers in every level.

The Knicks answer is to let Steve Novak shoot every shot as a three pointer. Every shot. 90 three point shots at 40% would be 108 points a game-enough to win! I can see the Knicks coming down the court in a wedge protecting Steve Novak as the Heat try to break in. The little group travels around the court in a tight little circle. Novak launches three from somewhere. Good!!
Knocks win four straight, re-write basketball strategy.

Ridiculous, but the Knicks only chance.

Leonhart, that was postadamonth material. It’s the kind of nonsense strategy that makes it into Hollywood sports films. The kind that charms a generation of kids. I remember the Mighty Ducks and the “Flying V” formation very fondly.

the knicks just need to stay out of the playoffs. it’s no place for them.
