Tyson Chandler Credits DPOY Award to Knicks Teammates’ ‘Poor Defense’

Tyson Chandler was in a playful mood during the presser to announce his win of the Defensive Player of the Year award, as he jokingly took a shot at his Knicks teammates‘ defense (or lack thereof.) Per the NY Daily News: “Tyson Chandler stepped to the podium, accepted his trophy Wednesday as the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year and thanked his teammates for facilitating the accolade. ‘I would like to thank my teammates because without their poor defense and letting people fly by them I wouldn’t get credit for stepping up,’ Chandler said … ‘It’s been a process,’ Chandler said. ‘We’ve had our ups and downs, but guys are buying in.'”
