Alex Rodriguez Rooting for LeBron James Because He Feels His Pain

A-Rod claims to feel the championship-less pain that LeBron James experiences more than anyone else on the planet, and that’s why he’s rooting so hard for the Miami Heat star to break through and get that first ring. Per the Miami Herald: “The New York Yankees slugger said Wednesday that he can relate to the national vitriol James has had to endure since joining the Heat. Rodriguez, who has dealt with plenty of bad publicity through the years, said on ESPN New York’s The Michael Kay Show that it’s ‘not fun being the villain.’ ‘Sometimes I feel so bad for him,’ Rodriguez said. ‘I feel like I feel his pain more than anybody.’ Rodriguez said winning the World Series in 2009 helped his image, and he is hoping the same will happen for James. A friend of Heat owner Micky Arison and a Miami native, Rodriguez is pulling for the Heat to defeat the Thunder in the NBA Finals. ‘LeBron is definitely under the microscope,’ Rodriguez said. ‘He is going to be judged on whether he wins a championship. So, yeah, I’m really hoping he gets this one behind him, and I’m cheering for the Heat, but ’09 was a career changer for me.’”

  • Riggs

im a yankee fan, but a-rod needs to remember that after he got that ring he hasnt done ish for the yankees in the playoffs anymore.

LeBron James wants this Chip so hard he’s the only guy that I saw not only in this Finals but even in the Post season who’s VERY VERY SERIOUS and he’s a man on the mission! I feel his pain! SORRY OKC IT”S TOO EARLY, HEAT WILL WIN THIS!

Co-sign Riggs. I’m a Yankee fan, and even though A-Rod contributed heavily in the ’09 playoffs and helped the Yankees get that ring, he’s been garbag-eh ever since. Long live Derek “Legendary” Jeter and let’s go Cano!!!

What exactly has DJ and Cano done in the postseason since that 09 run?

dope. props to A-rod. go get that monkey off your back Bron.

this is what he has to realize..if he stayed in cleveland the monkey wouldnt be as big on his back…but when you leave your hometown, which has NEVER won a championship in ANY professional sport and hasnt had a hero in their town since Jim Brown, let alone a hero that is one of their own “the chosen one”, that is where the hate goes..i admit people go too far, but the only way to kill the noise at this point is success..but even then, cleveland will still be ringless in every sport…its gotta be sad when u cant even go back to your hometown

A-Rod had one year where he didn’t disappoint in the post season. For the most part his career is defined by great regular seasons.

  • Jerome

Just one overpaid/hyped diva to another.

“Peeps be always on my case, man. Pshhh.”

  • Sean B

Sounds like Jerome is upset that he’s not an athlete… “overpaid” comments are so unnecessary.

Another reason to hate ARod. The Yankees by the way, will STILL be paying off ARod’s original Rangers contract until… wait for it… 2020.

Only pain A-ROD felt was that steroid injection up the crack.

LeBron will NEVER win an NBA championship. I know this is tough to read for Heat fans, but the sooner you get over it the less disappointed you will be after he fails to do so year in and year out. LeBron does not have the intangibles of a leader/champion when it’s crunch time. He looks to pass in key situations and has little faith in his jump shot. LeBron is ultimately about money and being “Hollywood” at his core. This rises to the surface every NBA postseason as he goes home every postseason empty-handed and we all go “back to the real world on Monday”.
