Kevin Garnett Fined $25k for Ducking the Media After Game 7

A terribly sad and frustrated Kevin Garnett walked off the floor in Miami in the waning seconds of Game 7, and no one has heard from him since. For that, the NBA docked him $25,000. From the Boston Globe: “Celtics star Kevin Garnett has been fined $25,000 by the NBA for failing to make himself available to the media after Boston’s loss to Miami in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals. [...] Garnett scored 14 points in the 101-88 loss Saturday night that put the Heat in the NBA Finals.”

Rightfully so. Bron and DW3 didn’t do any pressers after their L’s in the Conference Finals. The questions (especially for KG with retirement, Free Agency, legacy, etc.) these guys are asked often annoy me and I have nothing to do with them, so I can only imagine the frustration of having to answer inane Q’s after a heartbreaking loss…

    Money well spent

Love KG’s game and talent but the guy is a coward and a fake bully. Does anyone actually consider him to be a tough guy?

  • LA Huey

Dude made somewhere around $21M this season. Definitely money well spent.

KG isn’t tough, hee’s just an very intense player.

@Wixurrs: nobody’s a damn tough guy in the NBA. He gets under peoples skin and make them f*ck up, I love the guy for it.

The square root of zero = how many f**ks KG gives about this fine right now.

    Anything is Possible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dont these players have freedom of speech? or rather freedom to not speak?

  • LA Huey

@angus, His employer is fining him for not doing part of what he’s paid to do, the government isn’t involved here. I can go out and public and wear a mink coat, panties, socks with sandals, and a luchador mask and the govt has no right to do anything about it. But if I show up on company time with that get-up…my employer can take the appropriate action under the terms of my employment.

did they ask Lebron and Dwade how they felt when KG just left before the game ended? Cause i remember them asking Dwight Howard how he felt when they beat Lebron and he walked off. Oh man, the double standards in the media..

I don’t think he cares about the fine since he knew it was coming. I was disappointed that the big mouth didn’t have anything to say afterward.

    i don’t blame him. . .

Once again Garnett proves what a b*tch he is. Win with class, lose with class. He does neither

He actually will pay cheaper if he didn’t speak. If he did, he might have said a lot of ish and got a lot more fine.
