can’t believe drummond fell to us!give him time and then him and the moose will own the paint!

  • Sam

Harkless was a great pick for my sixers, I think that further shows lou williams will be leaving this summer which is a shame. Harkless is a big athletic guard to add to our deep bench, he may even start and get AI to SF. Moultrie will be a stud if we develop him properly. Its about time we got some size after the elton brand disaster I mean 80 mill to an undersized PF coming off an ACL? thats why our GM disappeared.

  • Sam

PS I’m just hoping moultrie isn’t another Speights!

The winner of draft OKC – jones III that type of talent shouldnt be available @ 28. Boston – got sully andfab for a steal, N>O. with davis, gordon, and rivers is kind of intriguing and t-dot with ross is a solid pick. But alot of losers Cavs- & wonder y Lebron left???? Waiters at 4 is a hella reach just like thompson last year. Houston- lamb is a great pick but now ur log jam at the sf/pf type of players??? Morris, Pattrick Patt, Scola, John luer, T jones and now fear of planes Royce??? Orlando- Nichlason??? too much talent still on the board for a pick like that and wonder Y d12 is leaving, Denver- picks the best foriegner in a weak international draft??? memphis – wroten jr kid is a good talent but they needed a shooter big time not a slasher with a broken jumper Pacers- plumlee really ,really over Moultrie or Pj3. come on Son

Toronto should of picked up Rivers or Drummond! Im sure Ross will be OK but considering what the team could’ve had, it depressing as a fan..

  • Sam

I’m aware harkless is 6’9 and probably will be the starting small forward! 5% body fat and 220? hes a unit!

  • cbb_fanatic

For all the people that are wondering why Terrence Ross was taken at number 8 instead of Rivers or Drummond, he’s a better shooter, defender, and is more consistent than Rivers and Drummond. Why do you think the Cavs called him back in for a last minute workout? The Raptors did the right thing by drafting based on proven talent and not underdeserved or preconceived hype. When him and Quincy Acy get to Toronto, you’ll see it first hand.

Of Course Okc Drafted Pj3, Always Daft Solidly -.-

  • MirChilly

I don’t know who is going to win the Rookie MVP but Tyler Zeller and Jared Sullinger will finish in the top 3. Zeller has improved every single year, works hard, can score on either side of the block, rebounds, defends his position and can run the floor with great hands. He will absolutely thrive with Irving. Jared is Kevin Love. Can rebound, score, shoot, pass and is a better ball handler than people realize. He automatically starts and gives Boston 15 and 9 plus the ability to stretch the floor.

Detroit got the steal of the draft at # 9 with Drummond. 3 straight years the Pistons have had a player who should have been top 5 drop into their laps. Very fortunate. Drummond is everything that Monroe isnt. They will complement each others game perfectly. Very excited to be a Pistons fan today.

  • Fat Lever

Hey guys, did Lou Roe get drafted last night?

  • http://redoftoothandclaw.ca/ niQ

I was surprised by Toronto’s pick as well, but I ain’t mad. Do is a good fit, plus Dwane Casey has been stressing defense and Ross is known as an above average defender. I admit I don’t know much about Quincy Acy though, anyone have some info? I was hoping they would grab Quincy Miller, Will Barton, or Doron Lamb…
On another note, WHY didn’t any team DRAFT SCOTT MACHADO?!?!? (My raps had a chance towards the end and didn’t take him =.=)

  • http://www.slamonline.com Wayno

@ TAD – I think Drummond’s worst case scenario is DeAndre Jordan, which wouldn’t be that bad…his ceiling is insanely high though. He’ll be a project though, he’s only 18. Fortunately rebounding and blocks translate to the NBA well, and he’s already as big or bigger than most centers in the NBA. Dude can jump through the roof too…we’re talking Dwight Howard type athletecism. I’m REALLY excited about this pick. Out of BKnight, Monroe, and him, he deffinitely has the most potential.

  • bike

Don’t understand the excitement over Drummond. He had probably the worst season statistically of any first rounder, has questionable work ethics, and flopped badly in UConn’s first round tourny loss. He could easily be Eddy Durry 2.0. The NBA would have done itself and Drummond a favor by advising him to stay in school and see if he puts in the work to improve. Knowing how to play basketball should be a requirement for a lottery pick.

  • Fat Lever

In all seriousness, I’m not excited about Harkless or Moultrie. To be fair, I haven’t seen any of them this past year, but if the Sixers wanted to get rid of Iguodala, it would have been nice if they offered him to the Raps and a second rounder for the 8th spot and grabbed Ross, who fills an immediate need. I think Ross is going to be be a legit starting 2 guard in the league for years. Not a superstar, maybe not even a star, but one of those guys that will consistently put up solid numbers. If they would have been able to pull in Harkless at 15 and Ross at 8, while moving Iguodala, that would have been a win-win, to me.

  • MirChilly

@ Fat Lever… I never will understand why the sixers want to get rid of Iggy. He is their best players and one of the best defenders and ball handlers in the league. You need somebody like him to compete for titles. They should of offered during the season Lou and Evan for Rudy Gay. Gives the sixers an impact scorer while allowing Iggy to do what he does best. Amnesty Elton and to get under the cap

  • http://www.slamonline.com Wayno

@ Fat Lever – Moultrie is going to be solid. He’ll be a double double machine, he’s a good defender (not a great shot blocker), and he has a relentless motor.

  • Fat Lever

MirChilly, the reason why is because he is best suited as a 2nd or 3rd best player on a team. Unfortunately for Sixer fans, the Sixers front office has made missteps along the way in trying to acquire/draft that franchise type of player to be the Batman to Dre’s Robin. Yes, he is an elite perimeter defender, good passer, solid rebounder. But, he will never lead this team to a title and I’m of the belief that we should blow this team up, start from scratch, and build through the draft, which is why I was ok with trading him to T Dot or GSW for their pick. As far as Evan, he has shown enough flashes of brilliance to at least intrigue Sixer fans and the FO into believing that he could be a building block for a franchise. We know what we have with Dre, the unknown with ET is what really causes Sixer fans to feel like Dre is expendable.

  • Fat Lever

Wayno, I hope you’re right. I’ll take a guy who may not be an athletic freak but is willing to put in the work and is hungry over a guy with a 40″ vertical. That’s why I think Thomas Robinson is going to be a very good player. You see his interview after he was picked? Dude is hungry, and his actions back up his demeanor.

  • MirChilly

@ Fat Lever… ET at his best is Rudy Gay. They can keep Evan and Iggy they will just have to amnesty elton. Knowing the 76ers, they will just overpay Lou, trade iggy for draft picks or something far worse. Also Arnett and Mo will be starters for you guys in the next couple years

  • http://www.slamonline.com Wayno

Yeah, I’m deffinitely high on TRob too…dude is gonna be really good.

  • http://Roosterteeth.com Caboose

I’ll be honest, I haven’t seen much of Amdrew Nicholson. Anyone wanna fill me in? He seems like a player who wouldn’t exactly fit with the Magic…

  • SeanMagicJuan

T Rob is a 6’8″ (maybe 1/2) high motor PF who can be solid. Drummond could be Dwight Howard.

The Dion Waters pick was the laughable.

The Dion Waiters pick was the laughable.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Wayno

That’s the thing with Drummond, Howard really wasn’t very skilled when he entered the league either, he was just huge and an amazing athlete. I could see Drummond’s best case scenario being a Dwight Howard type of player. The major difference I see is that Howard’s motor was much better… Still, a very intriguing/exciting prospect. Deffinitely worth the risk @ #9.

Some people play basketball simply because they are tall. I have seen the kid play in college and severall AAU games. Inexplicably, he disappears at times. I think you could pick the entire draft with a Magic 8 ball and be as successful.

  • http://Roosterteeth.com Caboose

    ^Except the Cavs.

  • http://www.newyorkshockexchange.com Shock Exchange

Word on the street is that Quincy Miller has been taking career advice from a few commenters on this site … as the theme from “Jeopardy” plays ad infinitum.

  • ChipS

Someone asked about Quincy Acy. I think he’s a mix between Reggie Evans and Taj Gibson. Reggie Evans as far as energy and Hustle and Taj Gibson on the offensive end. Taj has better fundementals and footwork though.

  • http://Roosterteeth.com Caboose

Not sure if Shock Exchange is troll or stupid.

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

I’m getting a little tired of these athletic 7 footers who don’t know a single post move… Also these combo forward tweeners who aren’t tall enough to guard 4′s or fast enough to guard 3′s, but are “versatile” on the offensive end. When Dwight Howard is the last real center alive, you know there’s something wrong.

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

Really happy with Houston’s picks though… Even though they drafted 2 SF-PF tweeners. They were definitely sleeper picks with real upside.
Anyone think Jeremy Lamb can be a piece worth building around? He looked totally st0ned in that one pre-draft interview, but I’m really liking this guy.

  • http://www.newyorkshockexchange.com Shock Exchange

I never mentioned any specifics on the bad career advice. However, my grandmother always said “If you throw a rock into a pack of dogs, the one who gets hit is going to holler.”

  • http://Slamonline.com nbk

    He’s stupid.

  • Fat Lever

MirChilly, to counter your point, dre dala at his best is dre dala.

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7C0vd-L5lg Munky

You guys get way too emtional over other ppl’ss comments. NBK and Caboose are the worst offenders, and they are always the firsts to call someone a name. Get a life you two.

  • http://Slamonline.com nbk

I call people stupid when I feel like they are stupid. Has nothing to do with emotion, just honesty

  • http://Roosterteeth.com Caboose

Munky: Really? Your half of an opinion is noted.

  • MirChilly

@ Fat… But nothing is wrong with that. Yes he isn’t a go to scorer, but he is the type of guy who will help you win a title. If Gerald Wallace gets 10mil a year, Iggy is worth atleast 12-13. Not a good offensive player, but he is a very, very good basketball player.
