Antawn Jamison to Sign One-Year Deal With the Lakers

We already knew that Antawn Jamison was LA-bound, and now it’s being reported that it’s on a one-year deal with the Lakers. Per ESPN: “Veteran forward Antawn Jamison will sign a one-year deal for the veteran’s minimum with the Los Angeles Lakers, according to a league source. Jamison, 36, averaged 17.2 points and 6.3 rebounds last year for Cleveland in his 14th season in the league, but shot a career-low 40.3 percent from the field.”

I realize how bad the Cavs were last season, I realize 40% fg percentage. BUT 17 ppg is more than I thought. I expected maybe 11 or 12 ppg. I guess Jamison, somewhat, balled out last season.

    Not bad, good pick up.

I hope Mike Brown and Jamison send Kobe through the same torment they did Lebron in crunch time

could be a total bust for both or his second 6th man of the year award

Ditto Dan, tough seeing any in between with this move…

  • Jre

Good stretch 4….should get alot of open looks

  • kobesBESTfriend

bet he had better stats than our entire bench last year!and pls dont resign that bum Jordan Hill!Tawn is all we need!

  • rand33p

I think he’ll do fine off the bench … Lakers need ANY help off the bench so def a good pick up

What’s with all these 1-year deals? Man players just don’t care anymore lol.

    Lakers can’t even touch OKC

  • http://slamonline.com LakeShow

^Yes… But they can beat them in a 7 game series.
    Or touch them…
I guess they can do whatever they damn well please.

  • Sundance

^ ok let me rephrase that…….. OKC will dominate Lakers in preseason, regular season, and playoffs.

OKC is in trouble, I don’t want to hear about the choking Thunder who gave a NBA Finals away.

The Lakers are stacked. If Kobe truly is the quintessential winner that most LA fans seem to assert (as either the #1 or #2 best players in the league), then the Lakers have no excuses to not win the West.

We got Vladimir Radmonivic, SCREW YOU LEAGUE WE’RE TAKING OVER!

Milicic and Radmanovic are the answer for Chi-town!!!!!!!!!

Caboose… Kobe doesn’t have to do squat. Hie’s over the hill and already cemented his place in NBA history.

Good pick-up for the Lakers. I think he will do fine.

    @ Sundance

Yeah LA can’t touch OKC chokin’ NBA Finals away, enjoy your 1 hit wonder season. You had your season last time and wasted it, damn your boy KD bowed and gave Lebron his ring

  • IGGI

    Great pick for LA.

  • lisa

I think the have enough to beat the Spurs. The Spurs have trouble defending big men… Nash will only make Gasol and Dwight better. IF the Lakers get Dwight.. I see them on top the West again.

  • lisa

    * Gasol and Bynum.

  • patrick

Thank god it’s for the minimun. Why? I think Jamison sucks!

  • dsleepy

jamison is a very good mid-range shooter and true locker-room leader. great pickup for the lakers. all they need is an athletic 3 and they will actually make a serious run at the chip

  • pposse

jamison only plays good on bad teams. His back to back 50 pt performances were the top highlights for his whole basketball career (hs and college included). He never won on any level, and most importantly basketball speaking he is technically considered a ‘big man’ and his go to move is a floater/unorthodox shot. This guy is far from a team player.

  • don the GSW fan

stern better not give dwight to the lakers. and dwight, really? to LAL? smh

  • Sundance

@boygoyme OKC and KD are experienced now . Get real the Lakers are done contending. They are gonna get bounced in the 2nd round for years to come.
