Lamar Odom Hopes to Redeem Himself on the Clippers

Lamar Odom is excited about re-joining the Clip Show, and looks at it as an opportunity to redeem himself following a nightmarish season in Dallas. From the AP: “Odom formally joined the Clippers on Monday following a four-team trade last week, vowing to revitalize his career with a once-downtrodden franchise now on the verge of title contention. ‘It’s an opportunity to redeem myself and an opportunity to come home, and you can’t pass at that,’ said Odom, who will wear his old No. 7. ‘This city has been great to me, and I love being here. … This is my home. I grew up in New York, and I’m a New Yorker to the heart, but I’m so grateful to be able to wear these colors and represent the town. I’m lucky.’ [...] ‘I feel like I’m 19 again,’ said Odom, who will turn 33 shortly after next season begins. ‘Hopefully I can turn the clock back on the court as well, do whatever I can to help the team win games and erase that last season I had. I wasn’t myself. I feel like I can help just by being myself. You all know what type of person I am and what I can bring to a ballclub. The same thing I did when I was winning championships is what I’m going to be doing for the Clippers now.’ Odom was thrilled when the Mavericks engineered a deal to send him back to the Clippers, who drafted him with the fourth overall pick in 1999. The Clippers gave up guard Mo Williams in the deal, but they share Odom’s confidence he can regain his form.”

I think Odom has a shot to be a solid contributor on this ball club. If he averages 12 and 5 thats a solid bounce back for him, and with his versatility, thats def possible with the Clippers. Even tho he bugged out last season, I’m routing for you LO.

Its sad that a TV show got in LOs way of his real career. He’s fun to watch so I hope he gets it going this year

I have a pet peeve about guys who don’t perform well in certain cities. Does it really take la for you to be a good ball player. All of these athletes in the NBA should be able to play anywhere! Basketball is basketball. If he plays well for clippers then I will lose all respect for him. It’s already bad that he’s w/ a fake ass bi tch

  • Justin05

Sorry that was ignorant…almost all pro athletes are with fake ass bi tches lol. Only respect their game, nothin else

L.O. will be a great contributor in LA. When I first heard of this deal I thought it would benefit LO tremendously. He’s an LA guy at heart and will def put up numbers. My guess is about 8 and 5. Clips are def contenders for the chip.

So much hate for one of the nicest guys in the NBA. Ever dealt with compound grief? It messes you up – but I doubt many of the 12yos posting on here have any life experience anyway…

You don’t have to be old to have gone through hardships. I like LO but the way he f*cked the Mavs was unprofessional. If he was really that stressed over grief he should have brought it to Cuban’s attention. Cubes is a players’ owner just look at what he did for Mugsy.

Yeah the grief excuse doesn’t fly, he could have handled the situation way better. He’s dealt with worse (his infant passing from SIDs) and he still came in and gave it his all. It just bothers me to see all the unrealized potential he had. He could have easily been a 20, 10, and 5 guy most of his career simply by being a little more assertive.

I think his demeanor held him back from those potential numbers sort of like VC.

Lmao @dfrance your a fool to sit there and say how someone should deal with their grief. Cosign UGH to the fullest.
