Omer Asik Signs Rockets 3-Year, $25.1M Offer

Omer Asik got wined and dined by Rockets’ coach Kevin McHale into a three-year, $25 million deal Friday night. The Chicago Tribune reports that the Bulls are leaning against matching the offer, which pays Asik nearly $15 million in ’14-15, and are reportedly pursuing Darko Milicic to fill Asik’s shoes: “After meeting with Rockets officials in Las Vegas, including dinner with coach Kevin McHale, Omer Asik returned to Chicago and signed his three-year, $25.1 million offer sheet Friday. The Bulls will have until 10:59 p.m. on the third day from when they receive the offer sheet to match or decline the terms, which include a $14,898,000 salary in 2014-15. Though attempts to present the offer sheet were made, the Bulls have yet to receive it.”
