Joe Johnson Selling Atlanta Mansion For $4.7M

Joe Johnson’s 13,822 square-foot Atlanta estate is on sale for $4.7 million, which for people with a lot of money (but not Superman money), sounds like a steal (H/T AJC): “Former Hawks guard Joe Johnson is like many of the rest of us: relocating for his job and looking to sell his crib. Most of us aren’t putting our house on the market for $4.7 million, but still. The listing at estately.com notes J.J.’s ‘grand estate’ includes eight bedrooms and eight full baths among its 13,822 square feet. There’s a weight room, a recording studio, and a basement spa that appears to include a salon with a barber’s chair (helping to explain why J.J.’s waves always were so tight).”

does he leave all those shoes in the closet? if so, some sneaker head might just borrow 4.7 mill

  • D12

    Beautiful! But no one cares…

  • jinolin

He should just give the proceeds back to the Hawks.

There are a lot on homeless people in Atlanta and this dude lives by himself (basically) with 8 bedrooms. Gots ta feed that ego! “You never want to be so poor that all you have is money!” Real talk home skillets

  • http://www.xvideos.com nbk troll

5 mili ain’t even dat much compared to what dude is making. Kinda like a regular dude selling his house for 1200.00

  • JML-G

yea, cause JJ should live in a small flat, only cause there is allot homeless people…

  • Salty

The only choice is between a small flat and a mansion? JML is almost certainly one of those people who worships wealthy people and wants to be them so he defends them like a dog protects his owner.

  • Salty

These dudes are morons. Why would you buy a house this big? Chill on the mansion and maybe you’ll have some money left for after you retire at 35-40. But then again we live in America where everyone dreams of being wealthy and if someone does hit that spot, they respond in ignorant fashion.

Yep, that’s a waste of a lot of money.

  • Bt

That’s 3 months salary for Joe. regular people spend years of salary on their homes. He’s hardly blowing all his cash.

  • Head chief

Think about the taxes and upkeep on this place. If you don’t have Steve jobs type money flow this is a bad investment for a player who will make 600 mill at max in his career and spend nearly 80 percent of that before retirement.that’s how these athletes in bankrupt situation.

He actually overpaid for this house, if you understand real estate. Why buy house, if going to sell. It does not matter how much money he has. He is single and now he will pay 10 million for a house in the Jersey area. Man I wish I was his agent or CPA.

  • http://www.slamonline.com AT

Umm u think dwight is giving the money he’d be gettin from his mansion in Fla to proceeds. Why r we critizing JJ

  • CubicleWorker

Hahah Seed you can’t make a statement like that without extensive knowledge of the Atlanta real estate market. Co-sign BT. Assuming that some people on this site make $50k/year, that’s the equivalent of those people buying a $12,500 house hahah. Also, AT – jinolin was making a joke reference to JJ’s overblown salary.

  • JML-G

@Salty – yea no sh*t i want to be rich.. i guess u rather want to be one of the homeless people instead… Good luck with that, should be easy.

  • jinolin

@AT b/c the “man” is overpaid.

  • GeeDeep

@Iforgotmayname-again So if Joe Johnson live in a studio that’s gonna what’s gonna put and to all homeless people. I bet you got a lot of stuff homeless people would like to have to so.

  • LA Huey

Never understand why people expect wealthy folk to live modestly.

  • Iforgotmyname-again

No, I am saying if you have 8 bedrooms you don’t need that many. 8?? Ego.

  • JJFan

I am always amazed at how poor people spend another persons money. Always dictating how someone else should spend THEIR money. Be concerned with your ownself and stop worrying about someone else. How do you know that he is not helping those less fortunate. Many wealthy people give to numerous charities and organizations and simply do not advertise it. Yet you judge someone because of a nice home or other material goods. How much do YOU give to those less fortunate than you. Are you offering a bedroom in your home to them? Are you offering someone a ride in YOUR car? When was the last time you bought groceries for someone hungry?Worry about your own life and good deeds that you could be doing and stop judging others!!!
