John Lucas III Says Rehabbing Derrick Rose is in Good Spirits

John Lucas III, now Toronto-bound, says that former Chicago Bulls teammate Derrick Rose is doing well, and should get back to his old self on the court soon enough. From RealGM: “Lucas has communicated, either through phone call or text message, with Rose every other day this summer and headed out to Los Angeles on Sunday night to visit him at his offseason training base. While Rose will miss significant portion of the 12-13 season as he rehabilitates from a torn ACL, Lucas made it clear that his good friend will undoubtedly return to the stature that has placed him among the best in the NBA. ‘His spirits are good,’ Lucas said. ‘He’s going to come back just like he was before he [got injured]. He’s getting healthier, staying in shape with his rehab. I’m excited about (Rose) getting healthy more than anything. The basketball part is always going to be there; it’s just about him getting healthy now.’”

Hopefully, the Bulls will have a good bench again whenever Rose gets back to 100%. They will be able to challenge the Miami Heat who will have a 32 year old D-Wade by the ’13′-’14 season when Rose is fully back to himself making them easier to defeat.

@ByAnyMeansNecessary – that’s cute, but D-Wade isn’t the problem. There are 10 D-Wades in the league and probably 5 overseas. That beast LeBron is who you need to worry about. LeBron is once in a generation – if that. D-Wade, every 2-3 years one comes along easy.
