Andrew Bynum ‘Feels Very Good’ Following Knee Procedure in Germany

As expected, Andrew Bynum went to Germany for knee treatement. According to new sixers GM Tony DiLeo, the big fella feels great, and the two sides will likely wait until the end of the season to begin contract negotiations (sound familiar?) From Philly Burbs: “DiLeo said at his introductory news conference Monday that Bynum told the Sixers ‘he feels very good’ and will be ready for next Tuesday’s start of training camp at Saint Joseph’s University. Bynum received the [plasma therapy injection] to reduce the inflammation in his occasionally troublesome knees. Bynum decided to fly to Europe for the procedure after former Lakers teammate Kobe Bryant raved about how much it helped his knees. In other Bynum news, DiLeo said the team and agent David Lee have yet to speak about a contract extension. Bynum, set to make $16.5 million this season, can become a free agent July 1. According to NBA rules, Bynum could sign a three-year deal for about $60 million Feb. 10, which is six months after the Sixers acquired him for Andre Iguodala in a four-team trade. Bynum, who was born in Plainsboro, would be eligible for more than $100 million over five years if he re-signs with the Sixers next summer. ‘His agent said he wants to come to the surroundings and see the team, see the atmosphere,’ DiLeo said. ‘He’s been very, very happy. His agent said he hasn’t seen him this happy in a long time. I think everything will work out. I think we’ll like Andrew and Andrew will like it here. At the appropriate time, we’ll do the negotiations.’”
