Tyson Chandler Thinks Rasheed Wallace Would Be a ‘Great Addition’ for Knicks

Rasheed Wallace recently worked out for the New York Knicks, and is apparently contemplating coming out of retirement. According to Tyson Chandler, Wallace looked good, and Chandler would be happy to welcome him as a teammate. Per the NY Post: “After taking the last two seasons off, Wallace worked out at the Knicks practice facility, and is considering signing with the team. And after seeing him work out, Chandler thinks Wallace can help. ‘He looked good,’ Chandler said. ‘Rasheed can be a great addition to us.’ Despite his extended break from the NBA, with Wallace’s last game action coming with Boston in the 2010 Finals, Chandler said Wallace still has skills that can help the Knicks. ‘I hope he [comes],’ Chandler said. ‘I don’t know what the situation is, but he’s a great communicator on defense and we know he can knock down the open 3 and jump shot. To have myself and Amar’e [Stoudemire] with Marcus Camby and Rasheed as backups … That’s pretty nice.’”

im not so sure if he would be much more than just a locker room presence. he is 38 and didnt play for some time, his last year was quite weak and wallace is unsure if playing nba ball would be such a good idea http://www.insidehoops.com/blog/?p=10990 . that alltogether doesnt look very promising

i think they have nothing to lose by doing this if someone gets hurt he can step in and contribute but he also has that kevin garnett effect on players as far as motivation plus he plays, well played D i would like to see him give it a shot

true. the negative thing is just that as long as wallace is on court all the refs will be calling against his team and he is also very capable of producing technical fouls while sitting on the bench lol

its crazy how Tyson Chandler is a respected veteran now in the game. I still remember his days in Chicago, he received no respect from the media, and players, and now he is vocal leader and the rock for the knicks, What championships can do for a career…

If only there was a way to tell if someone started watching the NBA in 2011….

Speaking about Sheed, what are y’alls fav Sheed moments? Mine’s gotta be the T he got for staring, without any word or motion, at the ref who later explained that Sheed was intimidating him. If Sheed just standing there intimidates you, get a dawg ref! get a dawg! Not a cat.

Marcus Camby, Rasheed Wallace, Jason Kidd, Prigioni, and Kurt Thomas are like the Raptors. Because they are old. Like dinosaurs. These jokes are getting old.
