NBA GMs Predict LeBron James MVP, Miami Heat Championship

Results of the always popular (and controversial) annual survey of NBA general managers were released today. It turns out that GMs expect LeBron and the Heat to be the big winners once again: “Which team will win the 2013 NBA Finals? 1. Miami — 70.0%, 2. L.A. Lakers — 23.3%, 3. Oklahoma City — 6.7%, Last year: Miami — 74.1%. Who will win the 2012-13 MVP? 1. LeBron James, Miami — 66.7%, 2. Kevin Durant, Oklahoma City — 30.0%, 3. Carmelo Anthony, New York — 3.3%, Last year: Kevin Durant — 66.7%.”

Daaaang, and here I was predicting the Bobcats would win 72 games, and have a 16-0 record in the playoffs, with Kemba “Muthafucking” Walker winning all three MVP’s, and MKG winning defensive player, with the 1st team All NBA comprising the ‘Cat’s starting 5.

    That’s for sure!

Carmelo Anthony got 3.3% of the vote?

  • axel

nothing new except GM would rather have Durant with the last shot over Kobe…

    are you making a funny

Carmelo got 3.3% of MVP votes? wth? I know the Knicks would most likely vote for him, but when did He, LaLa, and Kiyan become NBA GM’s?

    Actually, I’m entirely serious

Fewer minutes will improve the latter’s accuracy. He was horrid last season (shooting-wise; he actually was amongst the top five in crunch-time assists in ’11-’12), though, so that’s not saying much.

LA’s going to have more than 23.3% of the vote once the Playoffs are in full swing.

I agree that Miami are the favorites, but damn, OKC deserves a little bit more love than 6.7%. That’s like only 2 votes, one of them have to be OKC. So they only have one believer outside of Oklahoma? That’s crazy!

    Wrong on both.
Mark my words: Kevin Durant 2013 MVP/ LA Lakers NBA Champs

Plausible options. But, I am personally not that confident in either.

this proved a lot of GM’s don’t actually watch basketball. They just rely on information given to them from others…and most of these questions/answers aren’t provided for them.

  • GotHandles?

The GMs aren’t allowed to vote for their own programs.
