Bradley Beal Says Washington Wizards Players are Depressed

They’ve started the season 0-11, and things don’t appear poised to get better anytime soon. So, it’s understandable that depression would be creeping into the Washington Wizards’ locker room (according to rookie Bradley Beal.) Per the WaPo: “The next six games are against San Antonio, Portland, New York, Miami, Atlanta and Golden State. None of those teams currently has a losing record and two of those games are on the road in arenas where the Wizards have had little success. Somehow, though, Beal believes the Wizards have what it takes for a turnaround. ‘We just lost. Everybody hates losing. You just see the guys faces, it’s like depression. We haven’t won a game yet,’ Beal said. ‘We still have [71] more games. It’s still a long season. We still have our opportunity to get over .500. Right now, it’s our goal we have to shoot for, is to probably get into the playoffs. We’re going to make it. I have faith in this team. I have confidence in us. I think we’re more than capable of doing it, with the assets that we have. As long as guys keep buying in and never give up, we’ll be fine.’ The Wizards are now the 12th team in NBA history to open a season with 11 straight losses, and they wasted their latest, best chance against a Bobcats team that was on the second end of back-to-back games and missing three of its best players in the final overtime period.”

Who knew John Wall was that valuable? And why was Randy Wittman kept as head coach?

dunno why they haven’t won yet. Nene, Okafor, Ariza, Beal, Crawford 6th man, can’t be that bad.

Need to replace the word “depressed” with “hapless”

Last year we beat the Thunder. Everyone knows that you can’t sleep on “cupcake” teams, or else you’ll get a loss. Now the thing is, will these premiere teams play with their roster on the Wizards. If so, they can risk handing a loss to them. Even still, none of those teams wants to be the “team” that the Wizards beat. I think they’ll get a maybe 2 wins out of this current part of the schedule. Definitely 1. I doubt they’ll skunk it up and remain winless all the way through.

makes me want to go to a wizard’s game.

I can see this. Wall does so many things well, it has to make an impact. They’d probably be a .500 team if he were healthy.

John wall isn’t that valuable… The wizards have been rubbish the last two years with him. His 40% shooting isn’t going to win games.

My guess is that Washington didn’t bring Bradley Beal in to play next to Jordan Crawford and AJ Price. They brought him in to pair with John Wall. They would have won at least a game or two if John were playing.

Man its kinda sad to watch my team not be able to close out games in the fourth qtr, they have lost some very close games and mostly due to 4th qtr meltdowns. Someone has to step up right now. Nene being back the last two games have helped but there were 9 opportunities prior to him coming back. Why Wittman still has his job is beyond my scope, dont wish him any bad luck its just time for a change!! With the team they tried to put together I thought we would be in posn 5-8 for a playoff spot. Thats not looking so good right now but its a long season and plenty of games left, one game at a time and then we see where the chips fall. There are also no off nights in the NBA, snooze and you will lose.

It amazes me when bad coaches continue to get gigs. WTF is Randy Whittman doing with a HC job at the highest level?

How long has John been out?
