Kobe Bryant Reacts to the Firing of Head Coach Mike Brown

To the delight of just about everyone, Kobe Bryant has become an avid user of Facebook. Bryant posted his thoughts on the shocking news that the Los Angeles Lakers fired head coach Mike Brown just five games into the season: “Tough day. I’ve seen coaches as well as friends come and go. No matter how many years I’ve been playing, it’s still hard to deal with. I had a good relationship with Mike and I will continue to have one. I wish him and his family nothing but the best. I spoke with him today and thanked him for all of his hard work and sacrifice. As a team, we must focus our energy on tonight’s game. We must block out the weight of today’s news and simply do our jobs to the best of our ability. I’m not sure what direction we are heading in next. All I can do is focus on the here and now. Mamba out.”

“You’re welcome” -Kobe on behalf of Laker fans.

For once, Kobe said something very classy. Even if he isn’t really sad to see Brown go I’m glad he didn’t try to throw him under the bus…And that Mamba ish is sooooo corny.

Whyd you stop updating your Myspace Kobe?

  • roscoe

kb24 uttered the same statement when kwame brown, smush parker, chris mihm, chucky atkins, radmonivic, brian cook, & jr rider left LAL.

If you would’ve told me before the season that L.A. would fire their coach after five games, I would’ve said, “Sucks to be Vinny Del Negro.”

i think Kobe just trying to protect himself from blame game. Public response first is the right move to eliminate speculation. We all know Kobe does not like Mike and Mike deserves to get fire too. He has no record to show for and I don’t know if he has respect from the crews.

I wish the Clipper GM/Boss take notice. I can’t wait for Del Negro to get out too. So much talents in the Clipper, but the coach is dumb as a door knob.

  • Caribbeancop

  • pposse

once difference between kobe and lebron…lebron still refers to Mike Brown as ‘Coach Brown’ ..meanwhile Kobe refers to him as ‘Mike’

  • Ugh

The Player Formerly Known As Ronron should thake that up.
    “Peace out.”

  • MikeC.

Kobe is in his 30′s. Grownups don’t “tweet”. Grownups also don’t name themselves “Mamba” an drefer to themselves in 3rd person nickname, so I don’t even know what to think any more.

  • Drig’r

Kobe never referred to PJax as coach Jackson or coach Phil. He always called him Phil as well…….

  • Cameron

The Pistons were good from 03-07 maybe. Made eastern conference finals 3 or 4 times in a row. Yeap….they were just good in ’04
