The Lakers dropped Mike Brown and hired Mike D’Antoni. Smart move?
What should the Lakers have done about their head coach situation?

This is a bad move that only happened because Jim Buss despises Phil Jackson. All other things being equal, why would you ever hire the guy with 0 rings versus the guy who won you 5 rings, and is the best coach in the history of the sport?
That being said, D’Antoni is a better choice than any other available alternative. Now they have to find a defensive coordinator.
Enter, Nate McMillan
When will Scottie Pippen get a assistant coach job ?
The triangle got killed in 2011. Nash and D’Antoni make sense. He has no rings but either did Spoelstra until last year.
Didn’t know Gregg Popovich was available.
I think people who are voting for Phil are thinking short-term, not long-term. Would Phil be the best person to coach the team THIS year? Maybe so. But we all know he wouldn’t stick around for very long at all, and then you’d have a team in need of a new coach yet again. D’Antoni was the best choice.
wheres the option for “should’ve hired Brian Shaw after Phil?”
