Danny Ainge Says Boston Celtics Don’t Need to Make Trades for Now

With the Boston Celtics holding an unimpressive 13-12 record, GM Danny Ainge says he’s not ready to pull the trigger on any trades. Not yet, anyway. Per the Boston Herald: “I’m probably in the same place Doc (Rivers) is,’ Ainge said. ‘We’re not playing as well as we’re capable of. I don’t think we’ve played our best basketball yet. The team still has more to give than they’re giving. I don’t necessarily mean individuals. I’m not calling into question all our efforts. I’m just saying that collectively it hasn’t gone well at either end of the court consistently. We’ve had good stretches in a lot of games, but our execution at both ends has been very erratic.’ [...] Asked if he is confident that the roster he has assembled still can be succesful, Ainge paused and said, ‘I’m uncertain. I want to see more. I want to see more before I know. I’ve been uncertain the last few years, and they give me a lot of reason to be uncertain. But then they turn around and show what they’re made of and what they have inside of them. So I want to give it more time.’ It’s clear, as well, that Ainge isn’t going to make any major moves until he sees wha

Ever since Perk was traded, they’ve struggled on the glass. They get out-rebounded every game giving up second-chance points. Fix this!

He’s out of his mind if he thinks that KG and Paul Pierce will be able to carry the scoring load on this team and get them to the Conference Finals again. They’re a year older. LeBron’s confidence against them after Games 6 and 7 last season must be at an all-time high. Jeff Green hasn’t stepped up to be that 3rd guy that they need him to be. They can’t beat Miami or NY in a series. The way the Hawks are playing, they would struggle to beat them at this point as well.

It’s a shame. This team really deserved the chip in 2010.

They were often out rebounded even when Perk was with them. I don;t even think getting Perk back would be the answer. They need a rebounder at either Center or PF. They are now experimenting with Jason Collins at Center and moving KG back to PF. Collins is similar to Perk in that he sets picks, blocks and takes charges, but he doesn’t score or rebound every much. If that fails to help, they should trade Courtney Lee, Fab Melo and a #1 for Big Al Jefferson.

Lots of disappointing first half stats from Bass, Lee, JET and Green so far. Here’s hoping they can start to find some consistency soon.

You need to make a trade ! Get a solid rebounding center trade a first and Sullinger or Fab Melo DO NOT TRADE BRADLEY! THIS TEAM IS GOOD BUT THEY LACK REBOUNDING JUST GET 1 REBOUNDER! Al jefferson will be costly but it must be done!
