Steve Blake to Miss 6-8 Weeks Following Surgery

Los Angeles Lakers point guards continue to drop like flies: Steve Nash doesn’t know when he’ll be back, and now backup Steve Blake will miss the next 6-8 weeks after he goes under the knife (Blake was originally diagnosed with the abdominal strain on November 12 and the injury has caused him to miss the last 10 games.) From the team’s Twitter page: “Steve Blake will undergo laproscopic surgery to repair a torn abdominal muscle. It is expected that Blake will miss a minimum of 6 to 8 weeks. […] Kobe Bryant on Blake’s surgery: ‘It’s a big concern to me. Steve and I have always played well together. We’re going to miss him a lot.'”
