Chris Paul Doesn’t Like the Hornets’ New Nickname ‘Pelicans’


Former New Orleans Hornet Chris Paul isn’t a fan of his old team’s new nickname, and he let the world know of this via Twitter: “Pelicans??? #ImNotRollin.”

    At first I wasn’t a fan but when I saw a couple videos of Mother Pelican’s protecting their nest and pelicans eating pigeons whole , the name started to grown on me. Also that bird really means alot Louisiana culturally. This is a pretty good article about it.

    He’s been the best player the franchise has ever had (including both the Charlotte Hornets and New Orleans Hornets) and the city still loves him…He’s led his team to the number 1 spot in their division. So he’s doing his job. He has nothing to worry about at all really.

    Pelicans… LOL Although it does represent their community, it’s a better name for a D-League/minor league team (I know, already said before). Still favoring that Jazz name but we all know UTAH will never give it up, but SOUL and BLUES would have been perfect.

    CP3′s best seasons in NO were the 07-08 and 08-09 seasons where he averaged 21 points, 12 assists, 3 steals and 23 points, 11 assists and 3 steals. At his best, Zo put up around 21 points, 11 rebounds and 3 blocks. I’d take Chris’ stats and the impact of them over Zo.
