Delonte West Lands in the D-League

Great news: Delonte West is playing professional basketball once again, and we’re all winners for it. West signed on with the Dallas Mavericks’ D-League squad, the Texas Legends. Per the Dallas Morning News: “West averaged 9.5 pts, 2.3 reb, and 3.1 last last season for the Mavericks. He signed a one-year contract with Dallas prior to this season, but was suspended twice for ‘detrimental conduct’ during training camp and ultimately released by the team. His presence on the Donnie Nelson-owned Legends roster will fuel conjecture about a possible return to the Mavericks. After West was released, owner Mark Cuban said he is more reluctant to give second chances, given what happened with Lamar Odom last season. The Mavericks currently don’t have an open roster spot. However, the second 10-day contract of 37-year-old backup point guard Mike James is set to expire on Sunday. At that time, the Mavs have to decide whether to sign him for the rest of the season, or release him.”

Wow, it sucks seeing where he is now because he had potential to be a decent player but can’t effectively manage his emotions and his bi polar disorder.

yup. but who knows maybe he can get himself on track. He is still young. He can still become a valuable rotation player on an average team.

He’s gonna put up monster stats in the D league, lol

  • Caboose

Friggin Terrence Williams averaged a triple double. I sure hope Delonte is signed over Mike James.

“Who let him back in? Delonte is a real motherf*****” – Lebron James

  • Goattree

Yah you’re right about those guys at St Joes.
Dixon won a national title at Maryland, balled for the Raps for a bit there, not sure where he disappeared to though

  • Caboose

Balled in Washington, then Toronto. Fell out of favor from the league, played in Greece, then Spain. He got caught using steroids while in Spain and was suspended by FIBA. I think he’s playing in some minor Turkish league now.

damn i remember growing up i loved watchin him steve blake and chris wilcox hoop, probably cause juan dixon was the size of normal humans. Turns out thats why he doesnt hoop anymore a la steroid usage, the f’n irony.

what happened to Memphis signing him and Bill Walker!?

it would probably help them, but who knows what adding another “personality” to that locker room would do.

True story I saw Juan and his family at the Baltimore Aquarium on “$1 Day” a month or so back. No one really noticed him right here in Maryland. I thought it was kinda sad being that he waited on that long line in the cold to get in for a buck, but at $30 a person I can’t even be mad.

  • pposse

i rememeber it was his momma that had aids or somethin like that i dont think he grew up with parents…he was my guy and maryland was my team growing up…but shiiietl ill still wait in the cold to go to anywhere for a $1 over $30!!
