Erik Spoelstra Chooses Chris Bosh to Start in All-Star Game

Chris Bosh was very confident that he’d start in Sunday’s big  game, and Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra proved the forward correct. Bosh will take Rajon Rondo‘s starting spot in the All-Star Game. Sorry, Kyrie Irving. Per the News-Herald: “When Boston point guard Rajon Rondo tore his ACL, he was replaced on the roster by Brooklyn center Brook Lopez. It was Spoelstra’s call who would start in Rondo’s place. “Was there any doubt where my loyalties are?” he told ESPN. There was some speculation that Spoelstra would start another point guard — either Cleveland’s Kyrie Irving or Philadelphia’s Jrue Holiday. In the end, he went with a player on his team. Bosh will join teammates LeBron James and Dwyane Wade in the starting lineup. It’s the first time a team has had three starters in the All-Star Game since the 1990 Los Angeles Lakers.”

Although I’d love to see Kyrie and Lebron start together, Bosh isn’t a bad pick from a coaching standpoint. The Miami 3 will have the best synergy with each other – you won’t see many missed lobs from Wade to Lebron.

    PG – LeBron James
    SG – Dwyane Wade
    SF – Carmelo Anthony
    PF – Chris Bosh
    C – Kevin Garnett

    I ain’t mad one bit.

Looks like Bosh is fixing to ad ALL STAR MVP to his resumé.

Spo’s messing with Kyrie’s money. If Kyrie can start 2 ASGs, make 2 All-NBA 1st or 2nd teams, or wins 1 MVP, he gets a DRose Max extension. You gotta assume that Wade’s gonna start the next 2 probably and Rose is gonna get back his spot the next 2. Best case scenario for Kyrie was to be named the replacement starter this year and hope he could take either wade’s or rose’s spot once in the next 2 years (on top of taking Wade’s or rose’s place, he’d have to fight off Wall and Rondo). With LeBron in his prime and KD nearing his, there’s no way Kyrie sniffs that MVP trophy for the next 4-5 years. Kobe, Wade, CP3, Westbrook, and Tony Parker are all ahead of him for the all-nba spots and that’s before you count rose, rondo, and potentially wall for the next 2. Spo may have costed Kyrie 14 million by starting Bosh, the captain of the “Eastern-Conference-only-has-6-good-players-and-they-need-6-more-players-so-we’re-just-gonna-pick-6-dudes-that-aren’t-real-all-stars-and-just-go-with-that All-Stars

This is an interesting observation. Of course he could just go be All-NBA First team.

Na. Not within the next 3 years. He’d need 2 of those (or 2 2nd team, or a combination of both). You know Kobe’s gonna take 1 of those spots for either team this year and the 2 that follow. So is CP3. Westbrook’s gonna get his. Rose is gonna come back and take back a spot. Harden’s gonna be ahead of Kyrie in the all-nba voting for a couple of years. I think his best chance was to get a starting nod this year as the injury replacement and just hope Wade declines enough, rose n rondo take a year before they get back to form, Wall stales and he gets enough good publicity to get voted in by the fans once.
