Boston Celtics Signed Terrence Williams to Two-Year Deal

The Celtics’ front-office has been busy of late. DJ White and Shavlick Randolph were inked to 10-day deals, and Terrence Williams signed on for the rest of this season and next year. Per the Boston Globe: “Team president of basketball operations Danny Ainge was coy this morning when asked about Terrence Williams’ contract, saying ‘we’re still negotiating’ with a wry smile. The Celtics were indeed negotiating with Williams’ representatives on a deal not only for the remainder of this season but a conditional deal for 2013-14, according to an NBA source. Williams has played three games for the Celtics entering tonight’s game against the Golden State Warriors but has impressed with his ability to play point guard. The club had until tonight to sign Williams to another 10-day contract but chose to lock up the former lottery pick to an extended deal. Williams has blended in well with his teammates and Doc Rivers told reporters Thursday that Williams is a natural point guard, a position the Celtics need desperate help at after the season-ending injury to Rajon Rondo.”

Shavlik was in china avg’n 32 ppg & had a 55 point game. I hope he brings that here at least in the form of wide open shots. Fab Melo must not be ready for the league

they were desperate for a backup PG before Rondo went down. All of their other guards are more shooting guards. Avery and JET included. This allows them to focus on drafting another big next season, and hope Fab Melo continues to develop at Center.

Surprised they gave him a contract through next season as well, considering he was just on a 10-day contract. I like him though.
