Jason Terry is Not Impressed By the Miami Heat’s 20-Game Winning Streak

Well, of course. Jason Terry is the same guy who claims to hate Miami, says he plans to “kill” them, and has publicly criticized Ray Allen for taking his talents to South Beach. Terry now says that the Heat’s 20-game winning streak is unimpressive (Paul Pierce, meanwhile, hopes Miami loses every game the rest of the way.) Per ESPN: “Not really impressed with it or anything that they do,” said Terry, who has a history with Miami from his Dallas days when the two teams met in the 2011 Finals. ‘So, for me, it’s more about what our team is doing and how we’re coming together as a unit.’ Silly as it might sound, Terry suggested the Celtics are more concerned with earning some revenge from the bottom-dwelling Charlotte Bobcats on Saturday than the expansive winning streak the East-leading Heat might be carrying when they visit TD Garden on Monday. If they earn two more wins before Monday’s game, the Heat — who have eliminated the Celtics in each of the past two postseasons, including in seven games in last year’s Eastern Conference finals — will be tied for the second-longest win streak in NBA history (22 games by the 2007-08 Houston Rockets) when they visit Boston. Ironically, it was this Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce core on the court when the Celtics snapped the Rockets’ streak on March 18, 2008 — five years to the day of the Miami-Boston matchup.”

Nobody and nothing impresses Jason Terry, besides Jason Terry.

I’ll be at the game Monday night and hope streak is still alive at that point. Amazingly weird fact that Rockets streak ended on that date five years ago!

  • JML-G

funny how Boston Celtics – Miami Heat rivalry is now bigger than Celtics and Lakers

  • AJ

Never question the heart of the vets, Miami is a great team but I’d love to see the Cs hand them an ass whoopin on Monday night.

Celtics/Heat should be a good one. As for you, Mr. Terry, I haven’t been impressed with you this season.

That rockets streak back then was so impressive considering it happened when Yao went down. Also, it’s insane that the best streak is so much better than any other, 33 wins in a row damn.

When you wear five pairs of socks per game you don’t get impressed so easily.

Help your Celtics to win a couple more games before uttering these words. Sigh.

No winning streak by an Eastern Conference team impresses me. It is inferior to say the least to the WC.Miami would put 10-15 together at best if they played out west. This should really be considered at the end of season when talking about #1 seed. For example Chicago and San Antonio both getting 61 wins a few years back but the bulls had the head to head. The Spurs had a much tougher schedule throughout the year.

I like how he doesn’t kow tow to the competition, but when the other team wins 20 times in a row, shouldn’t you just be a good sportsman and say yes that’s impressive. It takes skill and luck to get to that long of a streak. Otherwise you just kinda sound like a hater.

The Heat are the best team right now, and will be for a couple more years. Any team’s rivalry against them will be greater than a rivalry against the Lakers.

So is he impressed by 21? Will he be impressed when it’s inevitably 22?

Trippin, bruh. Like totally the same day and all, huh?

Anyways, have fun at the game and keep it true, whatever it is!

his destiny with miami heat didnt end when he switched to the celtics….

  • Slick Ric

Stop that, the grizzlies have won 14 out of their last 15 games…if they could do that, surely Miami could go on a 18+ winning streak.

Hope LeBron has a flashback to Game 6 from the Conference Finals and the Heat blow out Boston. Wonder if that would impress Jason Terry.

Has SLAM officially hit an all-time low with his twitter hash-tag things? First of all, most everyone is inspired with weed—for a little bit. Weed is great all around, and one of the greatest things about it is how it “tells” you when its time for you to stop (or chill for a while) and take those great ideas into production. However, with “YOLOSWAG” I see that it is the weekend and all the boys who don’t yet have their license are online using hashtags and saying “YOLOSWAG”. 2pac would be rolling over in his grave right about now.

If you’re going to play the game, you might as well win. Would them going 15-6 impress you? How about 12-10 or something? You have not played professional (or college or probably even high school) if a 20 game winning streak is not impressive. I know the NBA is full of best friends and (other than the superstars and many solid starters) is full of talented but marginally skilled players. However, to say that any winning streak of 10+ games is not impressive simply due to your own ego and expectations about who they do/don’t play explains everything

  • 23

So the heat aren’t a veteran ball club? I know they have several core/role players with 10+ seasons under their belt

  • 23

What about the fact that Miami has beaten every team at least once this season? Oh wait I forgot 14 of those wins are irrelevant because they were played against teams from the east.

  • 23

“Kinda” “sound like” nah, Terry is an all out hater! Highly competitive though

  • 23

Shane Battier was a member of both teams. Coincidence? I think not.

  • playa

And I am not impressed with Jason Terry this whole season

  • Jiggaboo

Who would up this post? #pathetic
